Like last year, in 2017 there are two “streams” of the Unified State Exam – an early period (it takes place in mid-spring) and the main period, which traditionally starts at the end of the academic year, the last days of May. In 2017, the early “wave” of the Unified State Exam will start earlier than usual. If last year the peak of the spring exam period occurred in the last week of March, then this season the spring break period will be free from the Unified State Examination.
The main dates of the early period are from March 14 to March 24. Thus, by the beginning of the spring school holidays, many “early-term students” will already have time to pass the tests. And this may turn out to be convenient: among the graduates who have the right to take the Unified State Exam in the early wave are guys who will participate in Russian or international competitions and competitions in May, and during spring break they often go to sports camps, specialized shifts in camps, etc. d. Shifting exams to more early dates will allow them to use the latter “to the fullest.”
Additional (reserve) days early period of the Unified State Exam 2017 will be held from April 3 to April 7. At the same time, many will probably have to write exams on reserve dates: if in the last year’s schedule no more than two subjects were taken on the same day, then in 2017 most elective exams are grouped “in threes”.
Separate days are allocated only for three subjects: the Russian language exam, which is mandatory for graduates and all future applicants, as well as mathematics and the oral part of the foreign language exam. At the same time, this year “early-term” students will take the “speaking” part before the written part.
The March exams are planned to be distributed by date as follows:
March 14th(Tuesday) – exam in mathematics (both basic and specialized level);
March 16(Thursday) – chemistry, history, computer science;
18th of March(Saturday) – Unified State Examination in Foreign Languages ( oral part exam);
20th of March(Monday) – Russian language exam;
March 22(Wednesday) – biology, physics, foreign languages (written exam);

There is a nine-day pause between the main and reserve days of the early period. All additional tests for “reservists” will take place over three days:
April 3(Monday) – chemistry, literature, computer science, foreign (speaking);

April 7(Friday) – Russian language, basic and.
As a rule, the bulk of those taking the Unified State Examination ahead of schedule are graduates of previous years, as well as graduates of secondary specialized educational institutions (in colleges and vocational lyceums the program high school usually “pass” in the first year of study). In addition, school graduates who will be absent for valid reasons during the main period of taking the Unified State Exam (for example, to participate in Russian or international competitions or to be treated in a sanatorium) or who intend to continue their education outside Russia can “shoot” the exams early.
Graduates of 2017 can also at will choose the date for passing exams in those subjects for which the program has been completed in full. This is relevant primarily for those who are planning - the school course on this subject is taught up to grade 10, and passing one of the exams early can reduce tension during the main period of the Unified State Exam.

The main period for passing the Unified State Exam in 2017 starts on May 26, and by June 16, most graduates will have completed the exam epic. At the same time, the exam schedule for the main period of the Unified State Examination 2017 is much less dense in comparison with early exams, and most graduates will probably be able to avoid “overlapping” exam dates.
Separate exam days are allocated for passing compulsory subjects: Russian language, basic and specialized level mathematics (students have the right to take either one of these exams or both at once, so they are traditionally spaced out over several days in the main period schedule).
As last year, a separate day is allocated for the most popular elective exam - social studies. And two separate days are allocated for passing the oral part of the exam in foreign languages. In addition, a separate day is allocated for those who are not in the most demand. Unified State Exam of the subject– geography. Thus, most schoolchildren will prepare for graduation “with a clear conscience”, having already passed all scheduled exams and received results in most subjects. Those who missed the main examination period, chose subjects with the same deadlines, received a “fail” in Russian or mathematics, were removed from the exam, or encountered technical or organizational difficulties while taking the Unified State Exam (for example, a lack of additional forms or a power outage), exams will be taken on reserve dates.

Can there be changes to the Unified State Exam schedule?
The draft official Unified State Exam schedule is usually published at the beginning of the school year, discussed, and the final approval of the exam schedule occurs in the spring. Therefore, changes are possible in the Unified State Exam schedule for 2017.
However, for example, in 2016, the project was approved without any changes and the actual exam dates completely coincided with those announced in advance - both in the early and in the main wave. So the chances that the 2017 schedule will also be adopted without changes are quite high.
For recent years, as we are all accustomed to, schoolchildren in the 11th grade take mandatory exams, which should demonstrate their real levels of knowledge, help them enter a particular university, and receive the appropriate specialty. The schedule of Unified State Examinations for the coming year has already been approved. The government's decision states that next year children will begin to take the Unified State Exam, starting in February. If they thus achieve the required number of points, the test will be completed at this stage. If the passing grade fails, then students will face new tests a couple of months later, in April. In order to prepare for such an important moment in life with dignity, to obtain certificates, you need to get serious about this now, find the appropriate literature, if you need to start studying additionally with tutors, get acquainted with special video lessons, accurately decide on the subjects and start attending so-called elective classes for preparation for exams held at school.

In most schools, a few days before the exams themselves, they begin to conduct special classes for active preparation, consolidation of knowledge, and repetition of long-gone and half-forgotten material. it also helps to reduce the level of tension among children among the students themselves, instilling in them real hope: it is possible to pass the exam with the highest score. It is important to note that the academic year has already begun, and now there is already a list of subjects and a full exam schedule for the coming year.
However, even last summer, if anyone wanted, they could form, so to speak, a preliminary exam plan based on dates last year. By and large, the difference of a couple of days will not play a special role, but at the same time the student will have an excellent opportunity to clearly plan his free time, allocating a couple of hours to prepare specifically for exams.

Secondly, the RAO (Russian Academy of Education) insists on introducing a point scale for grading essays. Until today, essays were assessed according to only two criteria: pass or fail. In addition to the main and reserve days, the Unified State Examination process itself also provides for a third period - a retake. The right to retake is granted to every student - both those who did not reach the minimum threshold and those who simply want to improve their own results and score more points. True, to improve your own level you will need remarkable confidence in your own strengths and knowledge.
The Unified State Exam retake usually takes place in September, most often in the first half of the month. However, the schedule for a possible retake will be known only by August 2017.
Extra points
Additional points may be added for exam scores. So, 10 points can be added to:
- for a certificate with only A's;
- behind top places, taking part in Olympiads in school subjects;
- for achievements in sports.
Given the possible addition of points, it is worth considering passing the Unified State Exam in advance: take part in olympiads and competitions in all subjects, not just specialized ones; increase your level of knowledge, striving for excellent grades; participate in the sports life of the school.
Applications for early passing of the Unified State Exam in 2017 were accepted until February 1 (inclusive), and schoolchildren and graduates of previous years passed the first exam on March 23. Why before others?
Most often, graduates of previous years take the Unified State Exam early. They need an exam to enter a university. Currently, all Russian higher educational establishments upon enrollment, they are asked to provide USE results, which are considered valid for four years following the year of passing the exam. In order for everyone to take the exam, it was divided into three stages: early, main and additional.
Early delivery is designed mainly for graduates of previous years - those who want to improve their Unified State Exam results or those who graduated from school before the introduction of the Unified State Exam. This year's graduates can also take the exams ahead of schedule, but to do this, the school's pedagogical council must grant permission. You can get it if you have no academic debt and complete completion of the curriculum.
During the additional examination period from September 5 to 16, take the Unified State Examination in mathematics ( a basic level of) or the Russian language can be given to graduates who failed to score the minimum required points, that is, cross the threshold, in May - June.
The main requirement that must not be forgotten is that the exam is taken once a year. To pass early, schoolchildren submit an application to participate in the Unified State Exam to their school. Graduates of previous years must submit an application to participate in the Unified State Exam at the offices of the Moscow Regional Information Processing Center (RTSC). Documents you will need are a passport and an original education document.
The application must list the subjects in which you plan to take exams. For current year graduates, exams in Russian language and mathematics (at any of the two levels) are mandatory, the rest can be chosen independently (most often depending on the profile of the university).

Reserve period
Reserve exam dates are intended for those students who did not manage to get into the main period for valid reasons. It should be remembered that there are only a few reasons that exempt you from taking the exam in the main period. First of all, this is poor health, documented (certificate from a doctor).
In addition, the Unified State Examination requires a retake. As a rule, it takes place in September of the new academic year. Judging by the experience of past years, the retake is scheduled from September 10 to 17. In 2017, most likely, these dates will not be too different.
Changes in the Unified State Examination
Already in 2016, all students felt the burden of the changes that took place in the Unified State Examination system. Officials continue to fundamentally change the way this work is carried out so that the process of testing knowledge is more accurate and transparent. The most important innovations are:
- The list of required subjects has been increased to three. Let us recall that until 2016, graduates took only two subjects (Russian and mathematics). Now history will be one of the compulsory subjects. It will have to be taken not only in test form, where it is possible to put answers at random, but also orally. In addition, presumably compulsory subject can be foreign language. However, while officials are skeptical about this decision and intend to introduce this test closer to 2020.
- In total, at the Unified State Exam 2017 you will need to pass at least 4 subjects. Depending on which university the future applicant enters, the names of these subjects may change.
- It is planned to test knowledge in the subject “Informatics” on computers. By 2017, the Ministry of Education must prepare appropriate programs for this.
- Points earned on the Unified State Exam influence the final certificate of the graduate.
- Mathematics will be taken in two standards: basic and specialized.
Don’t forget that you shouldn’t delay preparing for exams. During the school year, it is more difficult to find a few hours to devote to the Unified State Exam.
