Thanks to the variety of offers in different price categories, today swimming pools have appeared on almost every site. Large stationary swimming pools set up by wealthy people, independent systems connected to water supply and sewerage, and their operation is automatic. But inflatable or frame models, by magic, do not fill or empty; here you need to make an effort. This is where special equipment comes to the rescue - pumps for pumping out water.
Which pumps are suitable for pumping water from the bottom of the pool
There are several types of water pumps; depending on the operating principle and equipment, they are designed for different applications. For pumping water from swimming pools and other containers in which the water is not clean, but not completely littered, there are self-priming drainage pumps.
The pump can be a special one, usually produced by pool manufacturers, or a household pump, designed for widespread use. Depending on the cost of the reservoir, a pump for pumping out water may be included, but this is in expensive frame models. The bulk of the units have the same manufacturer, but are supplied separately.
Types: submersible and surface (drainage)
Household sump pumps that can be used to empty water come in two types.
- Submersible– lower to the bottom of the pool or other emptying container and pump out water through the grate in the housing. They do not require additional sleeves for operation. Find out which pump to choose for your well.
- Superficial– remain outside, a special hose is lowered into the container to suck out the liquid. In addition to this, you can also check out.
For swimming pools, they produce not only drainage pumps that can quickly drain water and at the same time clean the bottom, but also universal systems that operate in several modes:
- Circulation– they circulate water in the pool for uniform heating and pass it through a purification system, preventing “blooming”.
- Heating– work both for draining water and for pumping it in, while simultaneously heating the cold water entering the pool.
A drainage pump can not only pump water out of the pool, but with its help it can actually set up an irrigation system. Water can be pumped from a nearby pond or rain barrel.
The technology for installing a drainage pump in a well is described.
Which ones are better
For inflatables
The most common for summer cottage use are inflatable pools; recently, they have been successfully replaced as leaders by frame varieties. Both are distinguished by their mobility, they can be installed wherever you want, and ease of use. In the middle of the season, if proper measures have not been taken to purify the water, the pool may need to be drained, or this will happen at the end of the swimming season, when it needs to be prepared for wintering. In any case, it is impossible to spit out several cubes with buckets, and the water will not flow by gravity due to the safety valves.
It is possible that you will find the material about .
Frame
To pump water out of an inflatable or frame pool, you can use the included filtration pump. The hose through which purified water flows back into the container is connected not to the pool, but to the outlet hose through a coupling or adapter. However, all the water cannot be drained in this way, since the equipment is installed on the fence at a considerable height from the bottom. For final pumping, you will have to use a special or household drainage pump. Or connect it to the process initially.
Special pool drainers differ from household drainers in their smaller power and dimensions. These are compact models that will collect almost all the water from an inflatable or frame structure. In addition, they are designed to clean the bottom from dirt and can serve as a water vacuum cleaner during the swimming season. A convenient handle allows you to move the device across the entire bottom of the pool.
When I was faced with the problem of removing residual water from a frame pool at my dacha (the drain hole is located high and some of the water remains at the bottom),
then scooping it out once with improvised means was enough to decide to purchase a drainage pump. Moreover, I am building a pond with a waterfall at my summer cottage, and it may be useful to me in the future for supplying water to the top of the waterfall. I chose the DN 110/6 model.
I was satisfied with both the power (200 W), which allows pumping up to 110 liters per minute, and the price of this device. The maximum immersion depth of the pump is no more than 8 meters, which is also suitable for me (my future pond will be of a more modest size), and a pressure of 6 m will allow water to be supplied to the top of the waterfall. So, with this purchase I immediately killed two birds with one stone. The pump is equipped float switch,
which automatically turns the pump on and off depending on the water level, so in order to pump out the remaining water from the pool, it had to be fixed at the top of the handle and manually controlled when the pumping process is completed so as not to overheat and burn the engine.
The design of the pump is simple and therefore reliable.
It consists of a pump part and an electric motor. At the bottom of the pump part there are suction windows for mechanical water purification,
and a special heat exchange chamber ensures cooling of the electric motor, which allows the pump to operate for a long time not completely immersed in water. Those., ideal option for pumping water from a swimming pool, and the permissible particle size of 5 mm allows it to be used in a pond. The pump body material is made of plastic, which significantly reduces its weight (only 3.92 kg). The pipe allows you to connect hoses of various diameters to it.
If you have already installed a pool and are using it as much as possible, then you have probably thought about how to properly store it after the summer season. Some people stop swimming after a short vacation, others relax at the dacha all summer, and some are not afraid of the cold and agree to take a dip at the beginning of autumn. You might even have heard stories about how you can not disassemble anything at all and leave it on the site until next year. Is this true? Let's figure it out together.
First of all, it’s worth clarifying the question: Is it possible to leave water in the Intex pool for the winter? The answer is no, unless you want to deal with bowl repairs next year. Our customers have conducted a similar experiment more than once, literally freezing a full bath until next summer, and sometimes this experience was actually successful, but in most cases people encountered various kinds of problems. The most minor inconvenience is a long thawing in the spring. Imagine a block of ice weighing several tons (and Intex has models with a larger volume) - even in a warm spring, it will not melt for a day or two, and the resulting water will still have to be poured out and replaced - its quality will be unsuitable for bathing. But the main danger in cold weather is the risk of damage to the bowl made of PVC material, which is not intended for low temperatures. In the cold it hardens and can easily break or crack, especially on the folds near the bottom. Remember - liquid expands when it freezes, so ice formed in folds can easily damage the bottom and walls; We highly recommend that you do not further verify this from your own experience. Restrictions do not apply to frame racks - they can be kept in almost any conditions (the metal is resistant to corrosion and low temperatures).
Removing the pool for storage - step-by-step instructions.
1. Drain the pool water.
So, at the end of summer it is better to remove the font. The first question on the agenda: you need to empty the contents. Depending on the size, from several hundred liters to tens of tons can splash inside, and this is quite a decent volume. There are two main methods of draining using different devices:
2. Wash and dry the bowl.
Having poured out the water, we move on to the second stage. If you are the owner of a frame, then there will be no difficulties - by default it is in a straightened state on the racks. It can be easily washed and will air dry on its own. And if you have an Easy Set with an upper inflatable ring installed, then you probably noticed that without water inside, its bowl does not hold its shape and simply falls down. It is better to wash such models before draining them when they are full in order to remove plaque from the walls and bottom. Intex's product range includes straight and curved brushes with retractable holders, as well as ready-made convenient cleaning kits - they are ideal not only for maintaining cleanliness during the summer season, but also for preparing for seasonal storage. After draining, Easy Set should be dried by straightening it in the sun. You can use improvised means and build improvised spacers and hang the material on them - it will dry faster. If you plan to dry on spacers, be careful not to puncture or tear the vinyl in the process.
3. Storage conditions.
And the last stage - we figure out how to store the pool in winter. The bowl should be handled with care - fold it carefully, sprinkled with talcum powder (talc is used to prevent the rubberized material from sticking together), and be sure to store it in a dry, warm room, avoiding freezing. Temperature restrictions do not apply to the frame and components - sand pumps or chlorine generators can easily stand all winter in an unheated garage. The same goes for moisture protection - there will be no problems with storing the frame during damp room in winter, but if you want to maximize the service life of all parts, of course, it is better to find a dry place for all spare parts.
We hope the article helped you decide how to properly prepare all components for seasonal storage. If you have any questions, call or write to us and the store consultants will answer them in detail!
Inflatable pool - in summer period. It has a number of unique properties:
- easy to install and dismantle:
- takes up little space during storage;
- inexpensive;
- does not require extra physical effort during operation;
- placed in any place that can be changed.
But at the end of the swimming season or if it is necessary to carry out a general cleaning of the pool, many people have questions about the correct use of the inflatable pool so that there are no problems with its operation next year.
How to drain water from an inflatable pool? Where should I pour it? What equipment do you need to use? Read more in our article.To drain the water from the pool, you can use a medium-power pump, which will help convert the water from the pool into excellent pressure for watering flower beds and beds. The cost of such a pump starts from 2,000 rubles.
You will need to drain the water from the inflatable pool in 3 cases:
- cessation of seasonal operation of the pool;
- cleaning the pool due to contamination;
Hence there are 2 ways to drain water:
- full;
- partial.
If you notice a dirty rim on the walls of the inflatable pool, you can get by by partially draining the water and rinsing the contaminated area. If you find a leak or, then the drain will be complete.
ADVICE!
Drain methods
There are several main ways to drain water from an inflatable pool:
- through the valves provided in the pool;
- by hoses;
- through the side.
It all depends on the design of the inflatable pool and its size. If it is small, you can simply lift it and pour water onto the area. If the pool is of impressive size, then it is better to use hoses, the stream of which can be directed to planting in the garden or to the place you need.
Drain points
Every owner has a place to drain country house chooses himself:
- drain;
- planting;
- pond on a personal plot;
- into the sewer;
- storm system;
- right on the site area.
It all depends on the design of your site and the location of the pool. Some people manage to simply step on the rubber side of an inflatable pool, and the water itself begins to flow out, and when there is little of it left, the pool rises and is freed from the remaining water. So, the choice is yours.
ADVICE! If during operation you treated the water in the pool with chemicals, then drain it to personal plot and the garden is not worth it. Your plantings and plants will die.
Sooner or later, an artificial reservoir of any type will require draining the water.
Water is drained:
at the end of the swimming season in case of severe turbidity and contamination, if its filtration is impossible when substances hazardous to people get into the water for eliminating breakdowns and repairing coatings when the bowl overflows with rainwater
How to drain water from a permanent pool
Stationary (buried) according to the rules must have a circulation and drainage system, which is laid in the initial stages of construction. It includes suction nozzles, drain nozzles or bottom nozzles. The water will drain out on its own through the open drain hole. Filters also usually have a multi-mode valve that allows water to drain into the sewer. It is enough to select the valve mode (flushing/draining) and ensure that the hose (pipe) exits to the place where the liquid is drained (for example, a pit). After this, we start it with the pump and monitor the removal of liquid. Please note that using this method the water will be drained to the level of the last suction nozzle. The remaining liquid is drained into the bottom hole or pumped out with a pump.
How to drain water from a Bestway pool
You can empty it in the same way with other models of similar design (see above):
- there is a drain valve - open the plug and connect the hose;
- partial drainage of water - select the rinse/drain mode on the filter tank tap and start filtration;
- drainage is not provided, there is no filter with the tap position “Drain” - pump out the water with an external pump.
Where to drain water from a pool at the dacha
A swimming pool is a desirable accessory in the summer season in any area. To ensure that the use of the pool is always comfortable, you need to take care of it - change the water and clean it.
It is ideal to drain the water into the sewer system, if there is one. You won't have to worry about swampy areas. However, on summer cottages There is rarely a centralized sewerage system, so draining large volumes of water can be a problem for users. Large volumes of water are usually treated with chlorine, oxygen or bromine based products. Usage chemical water has a number of nuances and determines the method of disposal/processing of such liquid.
Water is treated with chemicals:
- In country houses, it is recommended to drain in cesspool. But keep in mind that it may not be suitable for draining large pools, because... this may cause it to overflow.
- In this case, install a separate water intake for drainage. The reservoir for water disposal is designed taking into account the volume of the pool (as a rule, the size of the water intake is calculated with a margin). This will allow you to drain the pool whenever necessary.
not used:
- Organize drainage into natural reservoirs or arrange special ditches to distribute water throughout the site.
- Swimming pools can be an excellent source of water for watering plants and the irrigation system of the area. This is especially true for arid zones and areas with problematic water supply.
- ! The volume of the pool bowl should be less than the volume of the drainage pit or receiver into which the water is drained.
- ! When connecting to the sewer, the pipes must be sloped so that the water leaves and does not return. The drain pipe must be equipped with a valve.
- ! Please note that the size of the pipe or hose (diameter) determines the rate of drainage.
- ! If the water in the pool is treated with chemicals, it cannot be used for irrigation or discharge into ponds or other natural bodies of water.
- ! Discharge into water bodies is possible only if it does not contradict environmental legislation adopted in the given region.
