The main achievement of the Year of Ecology was attracting the attention of the government, business and citizens to “green” problems, ecologists, public figures, and representatives of environmental agencies interviewed by Izvestia agree. The most successful projects were the elimination of accumulated damage in the Arctic zone, measures to protect Lake Baikal and preserve rare species of animals in the Arctic. Far East. The biggest criticism was caused by the decision to build waste incineration plants and the postponement of the adoption of important environmental laws.
Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation Sergei Donskoy:
We are very grateful to the President for his decision on the Year of Ecology. For being able to concentrate the attention of not only the ministry, but the entire government, all departments on environmental issues. We held joint events with many ministries, with the State Duma, with the Federation Council, with the prosecutor's office. Everyone turned on! On the one hand, this is a huge help, and on the other hand, it is a large amount of responsibility, a large amount of work that was accomplished this year.
The most significant events of the year were the adoption of an environmental safety strategy, construction treatment facilities in Ulan-Ude, signing 60 agreements with various enterprises on the transition to the best available technologies.
Unfortunately, we did not have time to create all the planned protected natural areas. All documents have been prepared, we are going behind schedule only due to approvals from other departments. We will solve the problems raised in the Year of Ecology over a long period beyond 2025.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Olga Timofeeva:
We were able to change attitudes towards the environment. Over this year, 20 million people took part in various environmental actions, tens of thousands left messages on the interactive map of landfills and personally participated in the elimination of problematic sites.
The Year of Ecology united us all: social activists, ecologists, various government bodies, representatives of science and business. He launched a lot of joint work for years to come. It will no longer be possible to stop.
I wanted to pass more laws - a clear plan was written in the instructions of the president. These are amendments to the legislation on waste, clarification of the procedure for state environmental assessment, the law on the protection of atmospheric air during periods of unfavorable weather conditions, on the installation of meters on polluting pipes, on environmental information and on animals. Some of the amendments have already been adopted. But It became clear that it would not be possible to solve all the issues in one year. Therefore, for us this is a work plan for the near future.

Head of Rosprirodnadzor Artem Sidorov:
One of the most important results of the Year of Ecology, in addition to concluding agreements with enterprises on the implementation of environmental measures, I consider the introduction of checklists during inspections, as well as other real mechanisms for remote interaction with business entities.
Thanks to the functionality personal account official, Rosprirodnadzor inspectors were given the opportunity to analyze information about the object being inspected negative impact and choose the direction of control. And enterprises can now submit reports electronically, receive notifications about scheduled inspections and their results, conduct self-checks of compliance with mandatory environmental requirements.
Efforts in 2018, declared the Year of the Volunteer, will be aimed at interacting with the country's public environmental movement. The Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, together with Rosprirodnadzor, is preparing for widespread implementation the “Our Nature” information system, through which every citizen will be able to report violations of the law to environmental authorities and monitor online the progress of their elimination.
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology and Protection environment Vladimir Burmatov:
I consider the most important success of the year to be that “green” issues have become a priority for the country’s leadership, for the largest industrial companies, and for society. This is definitely a turning point. The most successful projects of the Year of Ecology are those that were personally supervised by the president: eliminating accumulated damage in the Arctic zone, the federal target program for Lake Baikal, and the conservation of rare animal species in the Far East.
Unfortunately, the Ministry of Natural Resources has not fully implemented any of the president’s instructions within the framework of the Year of Ecology. Many deadlines were missed, including environmental assessments, installation of meters at polluting enterprises, and others. We were forced to take on some of the tasks ourselves. For example, implementing waste management reform.
Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolai Kasimov:
Most importantly, a set of measures has been outlined to improve the environmental situation both at the legislative and executive levels. This happened on such a scale for the first time in the last decade. A good start has been made for environmental measures, which may be implemented in the coming years.
The disadvantages are that the strategic projects of the Year of Ecology - “Clean Country”, “Wild Nature”, conservation of the Volga, Lake Baikal - are not sufficiently developed. For example, a very controversial measure has been proposed to solve the problem of waste management. In the absence of separate waste collection in the country, incineration is not a sufficient solution. Each type of waste requires its own disposal method. An incinerator can itself be a source of environmental pollution.
In addition, the law on state environmental assessment, which would allow assessing the environmental impact of various spheres of human activity, was never adopted. The system for monitoring the state of the environment and public access to this information is not developed. A number of measuring systems are missing and modern technologies have not been introduced. Insufficient funds are allocated for this. There is no environmental research program in the country. And while there is no independent environmental authority, it is extremely important to create one.
Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on Ecology and Environmental Protection Albina Dudareva:
- The surge in volunteer activity and the increased interest of Russians in the quality of the environment (almost 60% of Russian citizens show interest in environmental issues) is one of the main achievements of this year. Representatives of the authorities began to listen to the opinions of people; this trend should not be limited only to the Year of Ecology. A striking example of such interaction has already become the socio-ecological conflict that unfolded around the Malinki landfill in New Moscow, which ended in the mothballing of the facility.
Omissions include the lack of systematic work with environmental NGOs. The commission is currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of the activities of more than 2 thousand such organizations, and it can already be said that only a quarter of them are active. Another failure is related to the insufficient number of infrastructure facilities in Russia in the waste management industry. The main reason is the lack of funding and the lack of specialized development programs.
Honored Ecologist of Russia Andrey Peshkov:
The biggest achievement is the beginning of the implementation, through the instructions of the president, of many proposals from the environmental community. This is, first of all, the adoption of a strategy for the country's environmental security. Previously, it was only a minor component of the concept of national security. The strategy has now been released as a separate document.
The biggest disappointment among all the environmentalists and citizens with whom I spoke was that during the Year of Ecology, a decision was made to build waste incineration plants in Russia using outdated technology. Burning waste on grates was popular in the world about 30 years ago. Now these factories cannot be repaired, are closed and are not recommended for construction by the European Union. Countries that care about environmental well-being do not allow such technologies into their countries, because they pose a real threat to the life and health of the population.

Coordinator of the ONF Center for Public Monitoring on Ecology and Forest Protection Dmitry Mironov:
I can call the results of the ONF “General Cleaning” projects and the Internet resource “Interactive Map of Landfills” truly significant in the Year of Ecology - with its help, it was possible to identify 15,722 landfills throughout the country and achieve the elimination of 7,038 sites of unauthorized waste storage. Also this year, the federal law on the “green shield” came into force, to which ONF experts made amendments that allowed the inclusion of not only forests in the forest park green belt, but also water protection zones, natural landscapes and other environmentally effective areas.
Unfortunately, this year the situation with the implementation of reform in the field of waste management is not so rosy, and this is primarily due to the hasty adoption of territorial schemes in which mistakes were made. One cannot fail to note the adoption of the controversial law on “forest amnesty”, the possible negative effect of which we were able to partially smooth out. Thanks to the amendments by ONF activists, it is prohibited to transfer areas in national parks and reserves to private hands. In addition, the implementation of the law on “forest amnesty” will be monitored by parliament and the public.
Every year in Russia, every year is dedicated to some issue or area, for example, 2015 was declared the year of literature, and 2016 was declared and dedicated to Russian cinema, and the next year 2017 will not be an exception.
2017 has been declared the year of which - Decree of the President of the Russian Federation
According to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated August 1, 2015 No. 392 “On holding the Year of Specially Protected Natural Areas in the Russian Federation,” 2017 in Russia declared the year ecology. It was decided to implement such a task in connection with the global trend of drawing public attention to the environmental problems of each country individually and the whole world as a whole.
Environmental problems in Russia
Based on the opinions of experts, it was revealed that the current environmental situation is becoming more and more depressing every year. The condition of soils is deteriorating, water is being polluted, seas are being desalinated, the amount of green space is decreasing, the average temperature is increasing, which leads to the melting of glaciers, the protective ozone layer in the atmosphere is decreasing... This is not a definitive list of modern problems that need to be solved. To maintain the condition of soils and cleanse water bodies, as well as to eliminate other problems listed above, it was decided to carry out expert actions lasting a whole year. Thanks to these measures Government of the Russian Federation intends in 2017 to improve the overall environmental situation in the country, so as not to aggravate such alarming forecasts of environmentalists.
Events dedicated to 2017 ecology
At the moment, more than 13 thousand specially protected natural areas, abbreviated as PAs, have been organized in Russia. Thanks to the expert group that will be established, it was decided to increase the number of protected areas by several hundred more. The planned program will involve approximately 168 activities aimed at disseminating information about environmental issues. Event plan, includes the organization of children's and youth festivals on this topic, as well as other educational activities. The creation of an all-Russian forum on protected areas and solving problems of reducing the number of mammals will also be carried out throughout 2017.
One of the aspects of the issue under consideration will be the development of the reserve system in Russia. At the moment, there are 103 natural reserves on the territory of the Russian Federation, which in their activities practice not only the preservation of the natural landscape and increasing the number of individuals of the animal world, but also the maintenance of populations of endangered species, the purification of natural water sources, and the improvement of air composition.
The main goals of environmental measures in the Russian Federation
Thanks to the planned activities, the Government of the Russian Federation intends to improve the environmental situation in the country, which should certainly affect not only the general health of the territory, but also the attitude of citizens towards environmental problems. The main criterion for the productive completion of the set goals will be a conscious approach and responsible understanding of the severity and importance of the environmental problem being raised.
2017 announced in Russian Federation Year of ecology.
The Year of Ecology is held in order to attract public attention to issues of environmental development in Russia, conservation biological diversity and ensuring environmental safety.
Systematic work is being carried out in many areas, such as improving legislation, transitioning to the best available technologies, improving waste management, protecting water resources, etc.... But what do ordinary citizens see?! And we mainly see work being done on reforestation, stocking water bodies with fish, building wastewater treatment plants, etc. That’s what this article will be about.
Arctic Cleanup:
Military environmentalists exceeded the annual plan for collecting scrap metal in the Arctic zone
Environmental cleanup units of the Ministry of Defense fulfilled the 2017 plan for collecting scrap metal in the Arctic zone by 126 percent. 11. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, reforestation measures were carried out on an area of more than 13 thousand hectares
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, two methods of reforestation are used - artificial and natural. The first is planting seedlings or saplings, as well as sowing seeds. IN this year In this way, in the regions of the region, specialists carried out reforestation on an area of 4 thousand hectares, including planting coniferous seedlings on 2.5 thousand hectares. Sowing of seeds is used only in the Motyginsky, Kezhemsky and Boguchansky districts and was carried out on 1.5 thousand hectares in 2017. The natural method of reforestation in the region is widely used to promote natural forest regeneration by preserving viable undergrowth of coniferous trees during the development of cutting areas. In 2017, such events were held on an area of 9.1 thousand hectares. In addition, in the region, agrotechnical care of forest crops was carried out on an area of 4.8 thousand hectares, seeds were sown in nurseries on 19.4 hectares, forest crops were supplemented on 1.8 thousand hectares, and 2.1 tons of forest seeds of small conifers.

During the “Green Capital” project in 2010-2020, more than 100 thousand hectares of forest plantations will appear in the region in erosion-hazardous areas, in degraded and unproductive lands and water protection zones.
This year, almost 7.5 thousand hectares of forest were planted in the Belgorod region, reports the press service of the regional forest management.
Over the course of several decades, on lands unsuitable for Agriculture, and also created 90 thousand hectares of forest plantations to protect the soil from water and wind erosion.
These are mainly Scots pine and English oak. In Alekseevsky, Valuysky, Grayvoronsky forestry enterprises and in the forest fire center, 148.3 million seedlings and saplings of trees and shrubs were grown over seven years.
14. This year, the volume of reforestation in the Arkhangelsk region amounted to 65 thousand hectares. IN last years The region implements the principle according to which the annual areas of reforestation are comparable to the areas of logging.
This year, the volume of reforestation in the Arkhangelsk region amounted to 65 thousand hectares. In recent years, the region has been implementing the principle according to which the annual areas of reforestation are comparable to the areas of logging.
Among the municipalities of the region, the largest volumes of reforestation were provided by the Vinogradovsky (5148 hectares), Verkhnetoyemsky (5110 hectares), and Ustyansky (4404 hectares) districts. In the Velsk region this year, pine forest crops were planted from seedlings with improved hereditary properties. In a few years they plan to collect elite seed material here.
2017 also became a record year for the number of seedlings grown in the region - more than 16 million pieces. Of these, more than six million are planting material with a closed root system. In 2016, reforestation work in the Arkhangelsk region was carried out on an area of 63.5 thousand hectares. This is the second result in the country.
15. In 2017, the Kostroma region exceeded the plan for reforestation work
In 2017, the Kostroma region exceeded the planned targets for reforestation work. The activities were carried out on an area of 20.2 thousand hectares.
Among the subjects of the Central federal district The Kostroma region retains first place in terms of forest reproduction volumes.
Work on artificial reforestation was carried out on an area of 3,707 hectares (104% of the plan), combined - 897 hectares (116% of the plan) and natural - 15,649 hectares (105% of the plan).
An important stage in the process of creating and growing forest crops is agrotechnical care - a set of measures that are carried out to improve the conditions for the survival and growth of cultivated crops. tree species. Agrotechnical care was carried out in the Kostroma region on an area of 18,033 hectares (118% of the plan). In addition, the soil has been prepared for planting forest crops for the next year on a total area of 3,765 hectares (105% of the plan).
16. Planned reforestation work has been completed in Mordovia
Compared to 2016, the volume of reforestation increased by 30%.
Reforestation on the lands of the forest fund of Mordovia was carried out on an area of 1418 hectares, of which planting forest crops - on an area of 606 hectares, promoting natural reforestation - 780 hectares, combined reforestation - 32 hectares. To improve the conditions for tree growth, agrotechnical care was carried out for forest crops on an area of 6,687 hectares, and felling for young trees was carried out on 1,869 hectares.
For reforestation, planting material grown in a forest nursery on the territory of the Krasnoslobodsky territorial forestry was used.
Restoring the population of rare animals:
1. The Amur tiger population has grown by 15% over the past 10 years and is trending towards further growth
“Provided that tiger habitats are preserved and sufficient food supply is provided, we can increase the Amur tiger population in Russia to at least 700 individuals,” noted the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The Amur tiger population has grown by 15% over the past ten years and is trending towards further growth. Today, up to 540 individuals of the Amur tiger live in Russia, while (according to the previous census in 2005, the number of the Amur tiger was estimated at only 450 individuals).
Since 2007, the network of specially protected natural areas in the Far East has significantly expanded, including the creation of 6 new national parks in the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories, including Bikin, which covers key habitats of the Amur tiger.
Let us remember that in the 90s the situation with populations of large mammals, including rare ones, was close to catastrophic. There was a real threat of extinction of species such as the Far Eastern leopard, and the fate of the Amur tiger was of great concern.
The main reasons for this situation were large-scale poaching and habitat destruction, including as a result of massive illegal logging in the tiger's range. By the early 90s, the number of Amur tigers had decreased to 400 individuals.
In 2015, the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, together with Rosprirodnadzor, regional authorities, public and scientific organizations, conducted a large-scale comprehensive census of the Amur tiger within its range. During the accounting, more than 150 thousand square meters were covered. km of tiger habitat in the south of the Far East. About one and a half thousand routes were laid to survey the territory and search for traces. About 2 thousand specialists took direct part in the field accounting stage. The widespread use of GPS/GLONASS navigators and camera traps, as well as control checks of a significant part of the routes taken, made it possible to achieve an unsurpassed level of assessment accuracy.

Russia is the only country where the number of tigers has increased significantly since the mid-20th century and has remained stable over the past 10 years. In the world as a whole, over the past hundred years the number of these predators has decreased by 97% - from 100 thousand to 3.9 thousand individuals. However, the joint efforts of the countries in which these animals live have brought long-awaited results in recent years: the number of tigers in the wild has increased from 3.2 thousand in 2010 to almost 3.9 thousand individuals in 2015.
In 2010, the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources approved the Strategy for the Conservation of the Amur Tiger in Russia, which determines the directions public policy Russian Federation in preserving the tiger population. The document was developed jointly with the Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, leading environmental organizations recognized by international experts. The strategy includes expanding the set of measures for the effective protection of the Amur tiger, its habitat and food supply, as well as optimizing the population monitoring system through the introduction of modern GLONASS technologies, strengthening criminal and administrative liability for poaching and illegal hunting.
2. The population of Przewalski’s horses is being restored in the Orenburg Nature Reserve (Ecology News)
16 Przewalski's horses arrived in the Orenburgsky Nature Reserve from the Hungarian Hortobágy National Park as part of the program to create a semi-free population of Przewalski's horse. 12 mares and four bachelor stallions arrived on a special flight.
The reserve has the largest horse paddock in the world with an area of more than 165 km2. The animals of the semi-free population are located on a large area of virgin steppe, which also makes the reserve unique,” said the reserve’s spokeswoman.
“To create a stable, self-sustaining population of Przewalski’s horse, the reserve needs at least 30 founders belonging to different breeding lines,” the Orenburgsky reserve reported.
In 2015, the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, with the participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences, developed and is implementing in the reserve the first and only program in Russia to restore the Przewalski’s horse population.
As part of the program, in July 2015, the territory of the Orenburgsky Nature Reserve was expanded by adding the Pre-Ural Steppe cluster area with an area of 16,538 hectares, where the Przewalski’s Horse Reintroduction Center was created.
In October 2015, the first 6 animals from the Tour du Valais biological station (France) were transported to the reserve. During the year, the horses underwent acclimatization under the supervision of Russian specialists, and on October 3, 2016, they were released into the wild from the acclimatization pen.
Last year, 14 more animals were brought to the reserve.
Currently, 36 Przewalski's horses live on the territory of the reserve.
By 2030, it is planned to create a semi-free population of these animals numbering at least 100 individuals.
Director of the reserve N. Sudets noted that horses help preserve the steppes of the region.
3. Six bison - five girls and one boy - appeared this year in the Bryansk Forest nature reserve.
Six bison - five girls and one boy - appeared this year in the Bryansk Forest nature reserve.
Five girls at once out of six newborns in one season - such a successful “harvest” for bison has never happened in the Bryansk Forest Nature Reserve. The first bison of this year was recorded by camera traps back in May, the last - in October. Now we can already say: all the babies are healthy, eating well and ready to face the winter in the general herd.
The bison restoration program has been actively working in the Bryansk Forest since 2011. Taking into account the babies born, the population of Bryansk bison now stands at 48 individuals.
“Last year we also had six newborn bison. But the difference is in the “quality” of the composition: out of the last six, five were boys, and this year it’s exactly the opposite. And this is a real gift!” the message quotes the words of the director of the reserve, Alexander Nikitenkov.
Since there is a numerical superiority of males over females in the Bryansk bison population, the birth of five females at once was a significant event.
The first bison, Methodius, born on the territory of the Bryansk Forest Nature Reserve, recently turned 6 years old. Methodius was born in the reserve at the very beginning of the program to restore the bison population.
Methodius became the biggest event in the beginning of the program to restore the free-living population of the European bison in the Bryansk Forest: the first newborn bison in the Bryansk forests. The reserve staff working with the bison did not even immediately publish this news: traditionally, it is better not to show the baby to anyone for the first few months!
Methodius is now unrecognizable: from a cute baby he has turned into a huge bull. But specialists who constantly work with bison, feed them, and care for bison, know by sight many animals, including Methodius. Methodius's mother, the bison Feisha, gave birth in the Bryansk Forest, in addition to a beautiful boy, to an equally beautiful girl, Feya. The bison is no longer there, she was brought by a very adult female, and her offspring are playing important roles in a herd of Bryansk bison.
On December 2, a new group of 11 bison was sent from the Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve in the Moscow Region to the Bryansk Forest. She will replenish the semi-free population of relatives living in the Bryansk region. It is specified that the group consists of three females and eight males. The age of the animals is from 4 to 5 years.
An interregional program for the conservation of Russian bison was developed in Russia in 1997, and in 1998 a working group was created, which subsequently adopted the “Strategy for the conservation of bison in Russia.” Work to create a semi-free population began in the Oryol Polesie National Park.
Now the semi-free population of bison in the Oryol, Bryansk and Kaluga regions numbers more than 500 animals. In the international scientific community, Russia is recognized as the only country in Europe where the revival of bison in the wild is possible.
4. Bison are taking over Smolensk forests
November 23 in the national park "Smolensk Poozerie" from the enclosures in natural environment released the first 11 bison, thereby beginning the formation of a free-living population.
In natural conditions were a 5-year-old male brought from the Yaroslavl Zoo, five females captured in the Republic of Belarus, and their offspring - three males born this year and two one-year-old females. All the young were born in the national park.
Before release, one of the adult females was fitted with a collar with a navigator and a device for sending SMS. This device sends messages with the coordinates of the bison's location.
In addition, samples of genetic material were taken from this individual, and injections of the Combovac vaccine and an anthelmintic drug were given.
5. In Yakutia, the population of forest bison, which lived on the territory of the republic more than 6 thousand years ago, is being restored.
On November 23, wood bison, the same age as mammoths, were released for free grazing. On the Eurasian continent, the only place where bison live is in Yakutia.
22 adult individuals and 8 calves were released from the Tympynai nursery into the adjacent territory of the Sinyaya natural park in the Mountain region. Three bison were equipped with satellite radio collars.
Any hunting activity will be limited in the release area, except for regulating the number of large predatory animals.
Bison is the most numerous species of mammoth fauna. Half of the total number of all bones found during expeditions in Yakutia are bison, followed by horses and mammoths. Wood bison lived on the territory of the republic in ancient times; individual remains date back to the 5th-6th millennium BC.

Igor Aznauryan ophthalmic surgeon, doctor medical sciences, professor, founder of children's eye clinics "Clear Gaze" Clear Gaze After laser correction, vision will still fall again! No - firstly, you will be offered laser vision correction (LVC) only if your nearsightedness or farsightedness does not progress. Secondly, it is extremely rare and only with very high degrees of myopia and farsightedness that vision can actually decrease. This is called regression of the result, which the good doctor will warn you about if your myopia, for example, has reached 12 diopters. The greater the degree of myopia or farsightedness, the more likely it is that some part of the problem will return. But, as a rule, no more than 5−10% - if the doctor...
Tea with additives (lemon, honey, raspberry jam, ginger) This delicious drink much more useful for healthy person. Honey contains many useful microelements: calcium, magnesium, vitamin C. Vitamin C, contained in both lemon and honey, really has a beneficial effect on the body during respiratory and inflammatory diseases, but citrus fruits can irritate the mucous membranes inflamed due to ARVI, and honey is the strongest allergen. If you are willing to take the risk, remember that during illness, drinks and food should not be too hot or too cold. And according to WHO recommendations, when you have a cold, you should drink regular warm water. Raspberries contain a large amount of salicylic acid, which destroys pathogenic microorganisms and reduces inflammatory process. This was good news, but bad news: any jam...

Gosha Semenov General Director of bluesleep.ru bluesleep.ru The bedroom is too warm Let's start with a fairly well-known fact, which, however, many people forget - especially in autumn and winter, when the heating is on, and you don’t want to open the window again. Scientists have already proven that heat reduces the time of deep sleep, which is important for getting enough sleep. The optimal temperature in the bedroom is no higher than +22 degrees, and it is advisable to ventilate the room well before going to bed. It is also not recommended to take a hot bath or visit a sauna in the evening: overheating the body also does not help healthy sleep. You yourself didn’t notice how you drank (or ate) caffeine. Everyone knows that caffeine interferes with sleep, that’s why we drink coffee in the morning to...
Valery Ilyinsky Founder and CEO of Genotek Let's see if you can distinguish truth from fiction about genes? Female orgasm is associated with genes TRUTH. The influence of genetics on women's sexual health and behavior is being actively studied. Scientists have found a relationship between certain gene variants and the age of first sexual intercourse, the ability to achieve orgasm during masturbation, fidelity to a partner, the severity of sexual desire and arousal, readiness to marry, and the tendency to frequently change partners. In most of these studies, scientists look at genetic variations in the dopamine receptor, which is responsible for our motivation. There were also genes that determine how much, for example, antidepressants will affect your sexual constitution. If a person falls asleep during stress, then the TRUTH genes are to blame. Narcolepsy is the best...
I had a stroke on January 31, 2019. There were no signs of trouble that day. My colleagues and I went to the karting center. And when I walked around at high speed, I felt unbearable pain - as if something had exploded in my head. I felt bad, I clenched my teeth and thought: “The main thing is not to faint.” After which I lost consciousness, and my kart crashed into the fence at full speed. About twenty minutes later I woke up. While we were waiting for the ambulance, I moved around myself and went outside, although in such cases a person should be in a horizontal position. It’s just that those around me didn’t really know what happened to me and what needed to be done. I remember how I rode in the ambulance, how long I waited in line for an appointment. The doctor on duty sent me to intensive care, and the very next...

Anna and her husband Vitaly live in Voronezh. They got married, established a life, and three years later - a long-awaited pregnancy. In June, when Anna was already in her sixth month, during a regular medical examination the doctor noticed that “something was wrong” with her leukocytes. She took another blood test and the tests were sent to a hematologist. And he gave an approximate diagnosis: “chronic myeloid leukemia.” Now Anna’s sister Olga says that while they were waiting for the analysis confirming the diagnosis - gene mutations, the whole family managed to survive a meeting with death. No one knew how quickly leukemia would develop, how much time Anna had, and whether she would have time to carry and give birth to a baby. The first diagnosis was not confirmed, and although it was clear that Anna’s leukemia was simply of a different type,...
