Procedure for taking the exam
In 2017, school graduates will traditionally take the Unified State Exam in two waves - early and main. The early stage will take place from March 23 to April 7, the main stage - from May 29 to June 19. At the early stage, graduates of evening schools and young people conscripted for military service, athletes of national teams, as well as high school students who cannot pass exams at the main stage due to health reasons or due to moving to another country.
The most popular elective subject among schoolchildren, social studies, will be held on a special day. This exam will not overlap with other Unified State Exams so that all willing graduates can take it on the main day.
Retakes
Graduates who fail exams in compulsory subjects can retake them in the fall.
On September 5, the Unified State Exam will be held in the Russian language, and on September 8 - in basic mathematics, which are eligible to take:
*who graduated from school this year, but “failed” both compulsory exams (Russian language and mathematics) during the summer exams;
*who graduated from school this year, but received a bad mark in one of the required exams (Russian language or mathematics) and were unable to retake the subject on the reserve day;
*who graduated from school this year, but for some reason did not take exams at all in the summer.
Graduates who have not completed minimum threshold in elective subjects, have the right to retake the exam only the next year.

Changes by subject
Unified State Exam in Biology
Starting this year, the Unified State Exam in Biology will have fewer tasks, their number reduced from 40 to 28. At the same time, schoolchildren will have more time to write work, the duration of the exam will increase from 180 to 210 minutes. Tasks with a choice of one answer are excluded from the options. Part 1 includes new types of tasks that differ significantly in the types of actions. Graduates will have to fill in the missing elements of a diagram or table, find the correct symbols in the figure, and complete tasks for analyzing and synthesizing information, including those presented in the form of graphs, diagrams and tables with statistical data. Another change is the reduction of the maximum primary score from 61 in 2016 to 59 in 2017.
Unified State Exam in Chemistry
In the chemistry options, the structure of Part 1 has been fundamentally changed: firstly, tasks with a choice of one answer have been excluded, secondly, questions have been grouped into separate thematic blocks, each of which contains tasks of both basic and increased levels difficulties. In general, there will be fewer tasks in the work - schoolchildren will have to complete 34 tasks (instead of 40 in 2016). The maximum primary result for the exam will be 60 points, last year it was 64 points. And one more innovation in chemistry: in tasks of a basic level of complexity, which test the assimilation of knowledge about the genetic connection of inorganic and organic substances (No. 9 and No. 17), the grading scale has been changed. Now you can get not one, but two points for correct answers.
Unified State Exam in Physics
In physics, the structure of part 1 of the examination paper was changed, part 2 was left unchanged. From the first part, tasks with a choice of one correct answer were excluded and tasks with a short answer were added.
EGE in the future
Unified State Exam in Chinese
Since the number of Russian schoolchildren studying Chinese in grades 8-11 already exceeds 5 thousand, it is quite possible that in the next two to three years the Unified State Exam in this subject will become another elective exam along with English, French, German and Spanish . Rosobrnadzor has created a working group that is studying the experience of conducting exams in Chinese language in China and other countries. MGIMO specialists are also working on the creation of examination materials in Chinese. In October 2015, the first testing of the Unified State Exam in Chinese was carried out. About three thousand schoolchildren from 16 regions of Russia took part in it. The next large-scale testing of the Unified State Exam and State Examination models in the Chinese language is planned for the fall of 2017.
Oral part in the Unified State Exam in Russian
The Ministry of Education and Science plans to introduce an oral part in the Unified State Examination in the Russian language in the coming years. It is expected that it will be tested in exams in 9th grade this academic year, and will appear in the Unified State Examination in two years. When the technology is developed, it can be used in exams in other humanities subjects - history, literature, social studies.
New Unified State Exam in Literature
In 2016, the Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements developed an updated model of the Unified State Examination in literature. It was tested in 13 regions of the Russian Federation in 60 educational organizations and presented for public discussion. Short answer tasks were excluded from the exam, the number of elective tasks was increased, comparative tasks were simplified, the assessment criteria were significantly changed and the requirements for the length of the essay were increased. Now the exam will consist of creative tasks that will require extensive reflection, and there will be more topics for essays. New model is expected to be introduced in 2018, graduates of 2017 will take this Unified State Exam in the usual format.
Unified State Examination in computer science
For several years now there has been talk that in the near future, schoolchildren will take computer science courses on a computer. Experts assess this prospect as real, but not close. Currently, the solution to the problem is hampered by the poor technical equipment of schools in remote regions of the country and SanPiNs, which prohibit schoolchildren from spending four hours at a time at the computer. Therefore, the issue of “computerization” of computer science may not worry graduates of the coming year.
More than 700,000 11th grade graduates will take the Unified State Exam in 2017. Despite the spring days, it is difficult to rejoice: exam dates are approaching at an alarming speed. On what days are the most terrible tests of the exam epic in store for graduates? When do you have to take it? mandatory Unified State Examination in mathematics and Russian language in 2017? What should you expect and what should you prepare for? Forewarned is forearmed! Or in Latin - prei monituse, prei minituse!

Although from 2017 they are going to add one more compulsory subject to these subjects. True, it is not yet known what kind of object this is. There are several candidates for this role: foreign language, social studies, physics and history. Today we know that you need to take only four exams: two mandatory and two optional. The graduate must determine his elective subjects himself, depending on what specialty at the university he plans to enroll in. List Unified State Examinations optional for 2017 consists of 12 subjects:- literature;

Changes and innovations in the Unified State Exam 2017
As mentioned above, it is planned to add one more to the two mandatory subjects for passing the Unified State Exam, but which one is unknown. A rather important change that affected the content of examination tests is the abolition of the test part for several subjects at once. Thus, tests have been canceled not only in Russian language and mathematics, but also in “oral” subjects. The test part of the exam remains only in the Unified State Exam in a foreign language. An innovation that speaks of the improvement of the Unified State Exam and its attempt to keep up with the times is the passing of the Unified State Exam in computer science and ICT on a computer. For exams in foreign languages, since 2017, oral part- “Speaking.” Now foreign languages will need to be taken 15 minutes longer - that’s how long the oral part will last. In addition to foreign languages, there is an idea to also introduce an oral part in the Unified State Exam in history, literature and social studies, but for now this is only in the draft. And in test mode, the oral part of the Russian language exam will be tested. Thus, in some regions of Russia, the Russian language exam in 2017 will include an oral part. Thus, there are no cardinal and unexpected changes in the 2017 Unified State Examination. And those innovations that have been implemented are obviously aimed at improving the examination testing system. The official Unified State Exam schedule for 2017 has already been approved and known. All that remains is to prepare well and show a decent level of knowledge! Good luck with exams!
For several years in a row, school graduates have taken a mandatory exam, which can show the real level of their knowledge and help them enter the desired university. Unified State Examination Schedule 2017 has changed somewhat.
According to the government decision, in 2017, children will begin taking the Unified State Exam in February. If they can score the required number of points, then the test will end. If the passing grade is not “taken,” then the schoolchildren will face tests in April.
In order to properly prepare for this important moment and receive the desired certificates, many future graduates are already looking for the necessary literature, hiring tutors, and looking for video lessons on the Internet. In many schools, just a few days before the Unified State Exam, they begin to conduct preparatory classes, in order to slightly reduce the level of tension among students and instill in them hope that passing the exam with a high score is quite possible.
It is worth noting that only at the beginning of the academic year will it be possible to get acquainted with the full exam schedule for 2017. But at the same time, anyone can personally draw up a preliminary plan for passing exam papers, starting from the dates of last year.
In principle, one or two days of difference does not play a special role, but the student will be able to accurately plan his free time and allocate several hours for preparation.
Unified State Examination dates
Rosobrnadzor annually draws up a precise plan for conducting the Unified State Exam. In 2017, they will act according to the same scheme and after September 10 they will approve the official schedule for the completion of these works. Now we can only find out the approximate dates for all stages of the Unified State Examination.
Early examination
If you want to take the exams ahead of schedule and see what you are capable of even before the main part of the Unified State Exam begins, then you can take the papers in March. This approach allows students to significantly increase their certificate scores and increase their chances of entering a prestigious university.
If during the test your scores seemed unsatisfactory, then during the main part of the exam you can radically change the picture. So, the schedule for the early Unified State Examination is as follows.
Please note that in 2016, the period from April 15 to April 23 was designated as a reserve period. We'll find out a little later what dates will be set for 2017. Officials will provide this information, along with the approved schedule.
Main period
Exam date | Item name |
May 27, 2017 | literature, geography |
May 30, 2017 | Russian language |
June 2, 2017 | mathematics (basic) |
June 6, 2017 | mathematics (profile) |
June 8, 2017 | social science |
June 10, 2017 | |
June 11, 2017 | foreign languages (oral part) |
June 14, 2017 | foreign languages (written part), biology |
June 16, 2017 | computer science and ICT, history |
June 20, 2017 | chemistry, physics |
Reserve period
Reserve exam dates are intended for those students who did not manage to get into the main period for valid reasons. It should be remembered that there are only a few reasons that exempt you from taking the exam in the main period. First of all, this is poor health, documented (certificate from a doctor).
In addition, the Unified State Examination requires a retake. As a rule, it takes place in September of the new academic year. Judging by the experience of past years, the retake is scheduled from September 10 to 17. In 2017, most likely, these dates will not be too different.
Changes in the Unified State Examination
Already in 2016, all students felt the burden of the changes that took place in the Unified State Examination system. Officials continue to fundamentally change the way this work is carried out so that the process of testing knowledge is more accurate and transparent. The most important innovations are:
- The list of required subjects has been increased to three. Let us recall that until 2016, graduates took only two subjects (Russian and mathematics). Now history will be one of the compulsory subjects. It will have to be taken not only in test form, where it is possible to put answers at random, but also orally. In addition, a foreign language may be a presumable compulsory subject. However, while officials are skeptical about this decision and intend to introduce this test closer to 2020.
- In total, at the Unified State Exam 2017 you will need to pass at least 4 subjects. Depending on which university the future applicant enters, the names of these subjects may change.
- It is planned to test knowledge in the subject “Informatics” on computers. By 2017, the Ministry of Education must prepare appropriate programs for this.
- Points earned on the Unified State Exam influence the final certificate of the graduate.
- Mathematics will be taken in two standards: basic and specialized.
Don’t forget that you shouldn’t delay preparing for exams. During the school year, it is more difficult to find a few hours to devote to the Unified State Exam. Therefore, future graduates should become familiar with possible exam questions already in the summer. Considering that all tests can be easily found on the Internet, this task becomes quite feasible.
For recent years, as we are all accustomed to, schoolchildren in the 11th grade take mandatory exams, which should demonstrate their real levels of knowledge, help enroll in one or another university, will receive the appropriate specialty. Unified State Examination Schedule for the coming year has already been approved. The government's decision states that next year children will begin to take the Unified State Exam, starting in February. If they thus achieve the required number of points, the test will be completed at this stage. If the passing grade fails, then students will face new tests a couple of months later, in April. In order to prepare for such an important moment in life with dignity, to obtain certificates, you need to get serious about this now, find the appropriate literature, if you need to start studying additionally with tutors, get acquainted with special video lessons, accurately decide on the subjects and start attending so-called elective classes for preparation for exams held at school.
Unified State Examination dates
In most schools, a few days before the exams themselves, they begin to conduct special classes for active preparation, consolidation of knowledge, and repetition of long-gone and half-forgotten material. it also helps to reduce the level of tension among children among the students themselves, instilling in them real hope: it is possible to pass the exam with the highest score. It is important to note that the academic year has already begun, and now there is already a list of subjects and a full exam schedule for the coming year.
However, even last summer, if anyone wanted, they could form, so to speak, a preliminary exam plan based on dates last year. By and large, the difference of a couple of days will not play a special role, but at the same time the student will have an excellent opportunity to clearly plan his free time, allocating a couple of hours to prepare specifically for exams.
Every year, Rosobrnadzor creates a clear plan for conducting the Unified State Exam. This year was no exception and by the 10th of last month the official schedule for the delivery of these works was adopted and approved.
