- Crush a piece of chalk and sprinkle it on the stained area. Leave for a few minutes - the chalk will absorb the fat. Sweep away the chalk with a sponge or brush and repeat the procedure. Usually, after 2-3 applications, the oily stain disappears.
- Didn't find the chalk? Use talc. Children's or cosmetic - any option will do. And the essence of cleaning the sofa from greasy stains is the same as using chalk.
- By the same principle, you can use ordinary table salt, scattering it several times on the stain.
blood stains
Blood stains are one of the most persistent and difficult stains to remove. In most cases, you can clean blood stains at home while the liquid has not yet had time to dry. And only sometimes old stains can be cleaned. You can deal with blood stains with improvised means as follows.
- To get started, simply lay a cloth soaked in cold water on the stain and leave it to soak up the blood for a while. Then blot the dirt with a dry cloth. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times, alternately wetting and drying the spot with the stain.
- If the stain does not respond to plain water, a salt solution will help make cleaning easier. Add 2 teaspoons to a glass of water and apply with a spray bottle. Then, in the same way as in the first method, alternately spray and collect the saline solution with a dry cloth.
- For large and already dried stains, it is better to use pharmacy hydrogen peroxide. Apply peroxide and blot the stain with a tissue until the blood stops coming out of the upholstery of the sofa.
- There is another remedy for cleaning old blood stains - ammonia. But you need to be extremely careful with it: firstly, it leaves burns on the skin. Secondly, its composition can greatly harm some types of sofa upholstery. Perhaps it's better not to risk it?
