And our Russia gave us one more gift: this is our wondrous, our mighty, our singing language. All of it is in it - our Russia. It contains all her gifts: and the breadth of unlimited possibilities; and the wealth of sounds, and words, and forms; both spontaneity and tenderness; and space, and scope, and soaring; both dreaminess and strength; both clarity and beauty. Everything is accessible to our language. He himself is subjugated to everything worldly and supramundane, and therefore has the power to express, depict and convey everything. This is the language of a mature, distinctive national character. And the Russian people, who created this language, are themselves called to reach mentally and spiritually the height to which their language calls them...
Not loving him means not loving and not taking care of our Motherland. What is a person without a homeland? What would we be if someone managed to tear us away from our Russia? Let other peoples understand and remember that they will only be able to see and comprehend Russia when they know and feel our speech. Until then, Russia will be incomprehensible and inaccessible to them; until then they will not find either a spiritual or political path to it. (According to I. Ilyin)

Russian House, Moscow
The world's first monument dedicated to the Russian word was erected in Belgorod. The four-meter-tall monument is made in the form of a bronze Bible, on the open page of which the text of the Holy Scriptures is typed in raised font. The monument is intended to emphasize the holiness of the Russian language and the centuries-old connection of our people with Orthodoxy.

Woe to us that we did not know how to take care of our language and carefully raise it.”
Ivan Aleksandrovich Ilyin, a Russian philosopher of the 20th century, spoke so enthusiastically and aptly about the Russian language.
Preservation of the Fatherland, national character and native language- the only true path to the prosperity of the people. This is confirmed by theory, this is confirmed by the experience, history and culture of various peoples, including the Russian people.
Language is the soul of a nation, the cultural and historical foundation of any people. Russian language is not only essential element national culture, but also the historical and cultural heritage and property of the Russian people, reflecting the closest connection with the Orthodox spiritual culture and contacts of Russians with other peoples.
Russia created its own special language, its own literature and its own art. All Slavs of the world respond to this language as if it were their native language. He turned out to be the spiritual instrument that transmitted the beginnings of Christianity, legal consciousness, art and science to all the small peoples living on the territory of Russia.
The Russian language is the national treasure of the Russian state!
Today, teaching the Russian language takes place against the backdrop of a general decline speech culture. Where is the solemnity, expressiveness and euphony of the Russian language? Today, the Russian language is overwhelmed by a stream of distortions, and respect for the native language has been lost. Jargon and vulgar language acquire the rights of literary citizenship. Speech is simplified to the point of monotony, its spirituality is reduced, speech and, as a consequence, people’s thinking and behavior are vulgarized.
In Russian culture it has traditionally been special treatment to the word and works of classics. “The soul has no life if it does not hear the words of God,” proclaim the holy enlighteners Cyril and Methodius. The Russian alphabet was created as a prayer, where the word was directly connected with God. Az, beeches, lead - I know the letters; the verb, good, is - I say (admit): Good (God) is... Rtsy, word, firmly - say the word firmly... Even the connection between family and state has become entrenched in the language. We call our homeland mother or Fatherland, Fatherland - the country of our fathers.
Lately it seems that a lot is being said and done to ensure that the Russian language is preserved. It is enough to name the federal target program “Russian Language”, the bill “On the Russian language as the state language in Russian Federation", the Council on the Russian Language under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Center for the Development of the Russian Language, and so on and so forth, but this is the level of science and politics. I am writing these lines as an ordinary multimillion-dollar speaker and user of the Russian language, who sees and feels a disrespectful attitude towards the Russian people, their Orthodox faith, their history and traditions in the decline of speech culture, in distortions, in “Americanisms”. For me, this state of affairs is interference in the process of communication between Russians, the destruction of the community and conciliarity inherent in the Russian person. This is a violation of the linguistic sovereignty of Russians and a violation of the national interests of Russians. That is why the problem of development, preservation of the Russian language, its protection and the fight for its purity is so acute now. This will help strengthen the national character, patriotism and citizenship of our people.
IN public policy for the preservation of the Russian language is the first and the main role belongs to the school. It needs to be studied from a national perspective: the art of the Russian word, Russian eloquence, speech etiquette, connection with history. We all know that modern Russian literary language is the direct successor of the Church Slavonic language, a language created by Cyril and Methodius as a common literary language for all Slavic peoples the early Middle Ages - a language of high spirituality and morality, a language that formed the “mysterious” Russian soul, the Russian character. Therefore, when studying the Russian language, I would like to rely on the Old Russian language, which is the source that feeds the modern Russian language. School program should provide historical information for understanding the laws of language and deviations from them, explanations of archaisms, Church Slavonicisms, information about the development of the Russian literary language, about its specifics. After all, the purpose of conversation and reading is the joy of spiritual reasoning, the ability to deeply understand the symbol and meaning of a word.
Language is a means of connecting generations. But the modern use of words by young people does not at all contribute to the connection and continuity of generations - quite the opposite.
The educational value of the Russian language is invaluable. Therefore, the role of a teacher is great, capable of spiritualizing, reviving what is written and passing on this treasure to children. There will be no corresponding school, there will be no active speakers of the literary language - the language will become spiritless, dead, and the Russian people will disappear from the face of the earth!

Here we cannot but agree with you: the Russian language really needs protection. We watch with trepidation how the so-called “Russian-speakers” in Ukraine fight to preserve the Russian language, but it turns out that we must fight for its preservation in Russia. And another question, where is he in greatest danger?
Hello, Alexander. You are an intelligent, thinking, educated, humane person, you are an honest citizen of your country. How many such people do we have? Why are they silent? Is it really true: the days have come, an era when the forces of light cannot resist the demonic destruction of spiritual culture? At all times, among all civilized peoples, the national language has been a repository of the spiritual: science, culture. education, art, literature, poetry. Regarding the Russian language and classical Russian fiction and poetry, the cultural world recognized them as a spiritual and unique achievement of mankind. You truly and sincerely, with pain in your soul, speak about your native Russian language, native not only to the Russian people, but also to all the peoples of Russia, understanding where the danger of loss lies. Active passion for street signs and product names, ridiculous names of products, ice cream and candies, organizations and institutions, printed publications; thoughtless attitude towards the culture of words of professional workers on radio, television, in the press, in the theater, cinema; active dissemination around the world of dictionaries of Russian obscene language - the anityazka of the people; reducing the number of teaching hours for studying the Russian language and literature both at school and at university with the active introduction of methods for studying a foreign language; lack of requirements for the culture of oral and written speech of students; introduction of a system of unified state examination in the form of testing in the course of language, literature, history, when living speech and thought are replaced by primitive work of thought with assignment forms; active propaganda of American-English song music on radio and television - all this is an alien, unnatural environment in which a modern child grows up and gets used to seeing and perceiving foreign language graphics, foreign vocabulary as the norm, as culture. This is how a person is separated from his family; There is a monstrous change in the self-awareness of the people. But this is what is needed for those who sow the seeds of the so-called freedom of choice, both in the way of life and in the language of communication. These agronomists and programmers of globalization sit far beyond the borders of Russia and Ukraine and understand that the information struggle in the world is a reality. But what kind of hypnosis is our intelligentsia, the educated and cultural part of society, under? Yes, a leader, an inspirer is needed, it has always been this way, and has his time really not come in our beloved Russia? Good luck to you, with respect, Alexander Tsokolov. Let's write and speak correctly: in Ukraine. And no order is a decree for us.

“And our Russia gave us one more gift: this is our wondrous, our mighty, our singing language” (I. Ilyin)
The sonority of the Russian language is confirmed by history. More than one generation of Russian poets has proven the limitless possibilities of the Russian language to the whole world. It is not for nothing that Ilyin’s iconic saying was said to Pushkin. His literary language formed the basis of the poetic language of Russia, which is still used today.The richness of the Russian language and the literature created in it arouses interest and respect for it throughout the world. It is studied not only in the CIS countries, but also in all foreign countries. You don’t have to look for an example for long: the curriculum of Cypriot schools in literature includes works of Russian classics, and in senior classes high school one of those offered to students foreign languages for studying - Russian. Having studied at a Cypriot school for three years, I can tell you a little more about the choices made by many.
The first argument in favor of the Russian language is always the phrase “It’s so interesting!” For many of my foreign friends, the prospect of studying Russian aroused sincere delight, and the second justification for their choice for many was, paradoxically, the complexity of Russian speech. In this light, calls and proposals to simplify our language sound especially absurd, in my opinion. This will instantly destroy its originality, putting Russian on a par with all popular and modern languages. And in many years, the world’s youth will think twice before choosing Russian from the huge variety of languages. Russian will become common and very similar to the others!
No other language in the world, and these are not empty words, can so vividly express the share of emotion hidden, thanks to the right words, between the lines.
Where else can you describe a landscape so accurately in words, if not in the Russian language! Where else, if not here, can one find a dozen far from unambiguous synonyms for the word. For example, the definition of “red”. Red in Russian can be scarlet, crimson, crimson, crimson, purple, ruby, coral and even bloody. Mikhail Zadornov, a well-known satirist today who has recently been speaking in the genre of “entertaining philology,” very accurately noted the originality of our understanding of our own language. The combination of three words that are completely opposite to each other in meaning “no, probably” gives us the general impression of a tendency to refuse, but at the same time indicates the possibility of agreement. Are there similar cases in other languages? "No, probably..."
More than one hundred essays have been and will be written about the Russian language, about the millions of people who speak it, both in Russia and abroad. We can talk endlessly about the functions of the Russian language: it is the working language of the UN and UNESCO, organizations that play a significant role in our lives, which means it is a world language. More than a dozen peoples live on the territory of Russia, and we all know that our country is a multinational state. Thus, fulfilling the role of an intermediary between all the languages of the peoples of Russia, the Russian language helps solve the problems of the political, economic and cultural development of our homeland.
The Russian language can, without any doubt, be called the soul and memory of its people. K.D. Ushinsky once said that “the language of every nation was created by the people themselves.” And indeed it is. Our language is just as impetuous and wonderfully beautiful; just as serene and “mighty”; as different in its manifestations as a Russian person.
Hi all. Given: homework in Russian. How to answer questions about the text?
Get acquainted with the statement about the Russian language by the philosopher Ivan Aleksandrovich Ilyin (1882-1954). This is a fragment of his speech at the Pushkin anniversary in 1937.
I. Read the text expressively, intonationally highlight the words that carry the main semantic load (“new”).
And our Russia gave us one more gift: this is our wondrous, our mighty, our singing language. All of it is our Russia. It contains all her gifts: the breadth of unlimited possibilities, and the wealth of sounds, and words, and forms; both spontaneity and clarity; and simplicity, and scope, and guy; and dreaminess, and strength, and clarity, and beauty.
Everything is accessible to our language. He himself is submissive to everything worldly and supramundane, and therefore has the power to express, depict and convey everything.
It contains the hum of distant bells and the silver of nearby bells. It contains gentle rustles and crunches. There are grassy rustles and sighs in it. It screams and roars and whistles and birds chirp. In it there are thunders from heaven and roars of beasts; and unsteady whirlwinds and barely audible splashes. It contains the whole singing Russian soul; the echo of the world and human groans, and the mirror of divine visions...
This is the language of a sharp, cutting thought. The language of a tremulous, nascent presentiment. The language of strong-willed decisions and accomplishments. The language of soaring and prophecy. The language of elusive transparency and eternal verbs.
This is the language of a mature, distinctive national character. And the Russian people, who created this language, are themselves called to reach mentally and spiritually the height to which their language calls them...
Woe to us that we did not know how to take care of our language and carefully grow it - in its sound, in its natural freedom, in its rhythm and in the rise of its organically grown spelling. Not to feel sorry for him, not to take care of him, means not to love and not to take care of our homeland.
II. Perform a stylistic analysis of the text.
1. Formulate the main idea of the text.
2. Determine the style of speech, indicate communicative task and name the main stylistic feature clearly expressed in this text.
3. Think about how expressive speech is achieved:
- evaluate from these positions the wealth of vocabulary used to characterize the capabilities of the Russian language;
- find stylistically colored words (book words denoting abstract concepts; high-style words characteristic of oratorical and poetic speech, among them - Church Slavonic words and expressions);
- find expressive syntactic constructions (series of homogeneous members, polyunion, syntactic parallelism, incomplete sentences);
- determine the ways and means of connecting sentences in paragraphs 1, 3 and 4. Assess the role of repetition.
4. Return to the main idea of the statement. Don't you think this text perfectly illustrates it?
II. Briefly convey the main content of a fragment of I. A. Ilyin’s speech. Maintain the structure of the text: thesis (1st paragraph), justification (2, 3, 4th paragraphs), conclusion (5, 6th paragraphs). Remove the imagery and emotionality, leave one information.
