Ranks in Heroes of the Storm: from “Bronze” to “Elite”

In Heroes of the Storm, player skill level or rank, is determined by the player’s place in the system leagues And divisions. Seasons Players compete for position in the rankings for a limited period of time called a season. At the end of each season, player ranks are reset, so you can start the next season with a clean slate. You'll receive seasonal rewards based on your maximum rank, and your starting rank in a new season depends in part on your past successes.

Qualifying matches When you start a new season of ranked matches, you must complete 10 qualifying matches for the system to determine your skill level. During these matches, if you are in a group where other players have already qualified, your rating will not be taken into account for matchmaking until you complete the qualifying matches or leave the group. Once you have completed 10 battles, the system will determine your starting rank and you can start collecting rating points.

Rating points After each ranked match, you either gain or lose ranking points. The number of points gained or lost depends on several factors: whether your team won, whether it was the favorite in this match (depending on the total rating of your team at the start of the match), whether you continued your winning or losing streak, and your personal rank. If you win a match in which you were not the favorite, you will receive more points, and if you lose, you will lose fewer points. By gaining or losing rating points, you can move to higher (or lower) divisions and leagues. If your rating drops to zero, you will be moved to a lower division or league. If your rating reaches 1000, you will be instantly moved to a higher division or league. The exception is the Master and Elite leagues, which do not have a maximum number of rating points.

What is Heroes 2.0?

The first innovation in Heroes of the Storm 2.0 is a completely changed progression system!

We decided to simplify the system and abolished the maximum player level, replacing it with the sum of all hero levels received. At the same time, we also abolished the maximum level for heroes, so the possibilities for development became almost limitless.

We're planning to release several major changes that will make playing Heroes of the Storm even more enjoyable: an improved progression system, loot containers, even more interesting battlefields based on different Blizzard game worlds, new mechanics in brawls and, of course, a whole bunch of excellent heroes.

Changes to hero experience and levels

We took a closer look at the speed at which heroes gained new levels in the previous development system and realized that early stages she was too tall. The level increased so quickly that often after the first game players received a third level, which seriously reduced the sense of significance and value of such development.

On the other hand, it took hours to wade through the high levels in the previous development system. Gaining levels is great, and we want you to enjoy your highly advanced heroes as often as possible.

So, the amount of experience required to gain levels has undergone changes that will solve both problems. In the early stages, gaining levels began to require a little more experience, and in the later stages - about 75–80% less.

Please note that as a result of these changes, the levels of some of your heroes will change slightly during the update. Heroes above level 5 will likely gain one or even more additional levels right away!

Example: Heroes who reached level 10 by the time the update was released will automatically increase to approximately level 15. Those who have reached level 20 will jump to about 55!

Changes will also affect heroes low level, as the amount of experience required to gain a level in the early stages has increased. But no one is in danger of losing levels. Instead, the amount of experience earned by heroes will be increased to the amount required to achieve the same level under the new system.

Example: A 3rd level hero who has earned 50% experience for the next transition will not drop to 2nd level when a new system is introduced. Instead, he will remain at level 3 and receive 50% of the experience needed to move to level 4 under the new system.

Containers for everyone!

The containers that you receive for each level up contain all the possible rewards in the game - and even heroes!

As you level up, you will begin to receive not only regular, but also rare and epic containers. Each type of container is guaranteed to contain at least one trophy of the corresponding rarity or higher, and even a regular container can contain a rare, epic or legendary item.

Time to dress up!

Let's say you received an award that doesn't suit your style. No problem! By spending some gold, you can replace the contents of any container up to three times. However, choose carefully - replacement is irreversible!

And finally, players of level 3 and above will receive at least 5 free containers and a special portrait when updating. Those who managed to get more levels will receive up to 70 containers when Heroes of the Storm 2.0 releases. The higher the player's level, the greater the reward.

Collections and Gear: Fight in style!

We are pleased to announce the appearance of the “Collection”. This menu will replace the in-game store and will help you keep track of the growing pile of treasures that you have received for progress or found in containers and purchased in the game. Developer Comment: Due to changes to Chain Heal, Rehgar will become more dynamic even before level 10. This will also allow him to sufficiently support the team without relying less on Ancestral Healing. Reducing the ability's cooldown will also increase the attractiveness of the Tidal Waves, Earthlife Enchant, and Blood and Thunder talents at their respective levels. We've slightly reduced the healing amount of Ancestral Healing to compensate for the increased base arsenal. During internal testing prior to making these changes, we noticed that some of the effect of Ancestral Healing was often wasted, so we believe that the change will not have as big an impact as it might seem at first glance.
