Up to 8,000 people disappear in Russia every year. These statistics are staggering in their magnitude. Behind the dry report of numbers and missing people, it is difficult to see the pain of their loved ones, who will never stop waiting and hoping. “Abandon hope, all who enter here,” such an inscription on the gates of hell, according to Dante Alighieri, greets dead sinners. Perhaps such hopelessness should become the lot of many, but only after the Last Judgment. So far this has not happened. No one can take away a person's right to hope. Hope, which gives strength in the fight against circumstances, no matter how terrible they may seem. Hope that helps you live. And, sometimes, to survive, in the literal sense of the word.
On the evening of September 30, 2000, 16-year-old Katya Morozova (real name Katerina Martynova) and 17-year-old Tatyana Semenova (real name Elena Simakhina) went to the cathedral square near the Ryazan Kremlin. On the holiday “Faith. Hope. Love". They did not return home. Anxious parents waited for the girls until the morning, and then reported their disappearance to the police. Tearful mothers told the operators of “Criminal Russia” that their hearts had broken. It never happened before that girls would not return home at night without warning. The entire Ryazan police were raised to their feet. Dozens of searches. District police, patrol and search vehicles combed the area in the Kremlin area, carried out door-to-door visits to nearby houses, interviewed neighbors, talked with people walking at the holiday, showing them photographs of the missing girls. At the same time, all stations, morgues, and the railway station were checked. The media took an active part in the search. But the hot pursuit did not bring any results. The prosecutor's office of the Ryazan region opened a criminal case into the disappearance of minors, and an investigative task force was created, in which one of the most experienced investigators in the region, Dmitry Plotkin, took part.
First of all, the version of kidnapping girls for the purpose of rape and murder was worked out. Detectives have formed a wide range of suspects. They investigated all those who had committed sexual crimes in the past for their involvement in the kidnapping. Those serving sentences for murder were taken under the control of pimps, prostitutes and other persons who had trouble with the law. All this made it possible to solve a number of other crimes. Including serious ones. But the detectives did not bring any closer results in the search for Martynova and Simakhina. This is exactly what Plotkin told Criminal Russia. They searched for the bodies of Katya and Lena for several weeks. Up to heavy snowfalls. They used sniffer dogs and carried out excavations in suspicious places. They did not give up hope of finding the trail of a possible kidnapper. Every day, investigators studied reports of crimes that had occurred. They paid attention to the facts of violence, to sexual maniacs. Requests with photographs and registration data were sent to all regions of Russia. And, in addition, through Interpol, to Turkey, Germany, Spain and a number of other countries. Detectives did not rule out that the girls could have been taken abroad and kept in foreign brothels. But time passed, and the answers were not reassuring. No traces of Lena Simakhina and Katya Martynova were found anywhere.
The parents of the missing regularly came to church and prayed to God to save their children. But the hope of seeing the girls alive gradually began to fade. One day, Katya and Lena’s mothers even wanted to light candles for the repose of the souls of the missing. But the priest stopped them. He said that until the bodies are found, candles should be lit for health. More than a year has passed, and nothing was known about the fate of the Ryazan girls. However, detectives continued to follow up on any information that could provide a lead to the wanted men. Nor did they miss the strange event that happened in December 2002 in a small town of Skopin, Ryazan region. There, in the entrance of one of the residential buildings, he was found infant. It was not possible to find out where the foundling came from. And in the summer of 2003, another baby was discovered in another entrance. Despite the great public outcry, the parents of the abandoned baby were not found this time either. The situation moved from a dead point only in the spring of 2004. When to the city police station Novomichurinsk A student from the Ryazan Medical School came to the Ryazan region Alena Pestova.
Her story shocked even seasoned detectives. Pestova said that in the city of Skopin, she rented a room in a private house, and she accidentally found out that the owner of the house, a certain Victor Mokhov keeps two girls in a hole under the garage located under the house. And, allegedly, these girls have been living in a hole for about four years. The girl said that the night before Mokhov had a party at his home. Introduced Alena to his niece. They had a fun time listening to music from Alena's collection. And, Later, when Alena was sorting through the disks, she found a note among them that Mokhov was not this girl’s uncle. That he has been keeping her and her friend in the basement of the house for 4 years. And that he can kill everyone. This was written by the same “niece”. Alena Pestova took the note to the police.
Ryazan detectives, without delaying matters, went to Skopin. Mokhov was summoned for questioning. He was a pleasant, friendly man. When asked where the girls were, he responded with surprise. By that time, the detectives already knew that during his life in Skopina, Mokhov proved himself to be a law-abiding citizen. He graduated from technical school and received a specialty as a mining foreman, although he did not work by profession. At that time, all the mines in Skopinsk were closed, and Mokhov did not want to go to distant lands. Therefore, he got a job at a local aggregate plant. At work he was considered one of the best. He repeatedly won professional competitions and was awarded certificates of honor. In previous years, he was a member of the Communist Party.
Detectives searched his garage and discovered a carefully disguised entrance to the dungeon behind it. There was a whole bunker built there. Behind several iron doors, in the very depths of the basement, they found two girls whose lives were already hanging by a thread. My health was very poor. One of the girls was pregnant with her third child. It was the first two that were discovered in the city of Skopin a year earlier. The girls said that after the holiday four years ago they were going to go home, and a man took them for a ride. They got into the car with him, drank vodka and lost consciousness. We woke up already in the basement. Thus began their life as sex slaves underground. Skopinsky maniac Mokhov was sentenced to 17 years of strict regime.
Quote: Interview of a modest Ryazan mechanic and Skopinsky maniac to the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper
So: dirty jacket, worn-out trousers, worn-out shoes. He speaks in monosyllables, like a foreigner who learned Russian from a self-instruction manual. He doesn’t look dejected, although the prison telegraph, as always, worked clearly - in order to avoid premature punishment, Mokhov was transferred to a separate cell. With curiosity, he pokes his nose into a bag of tea and sausage - I was warned that he takes the world literally: they say, you tied me up - now you feed me. He clearly likes the popularity that has fallen on his head. In principle, one could even call him handsome, if one did not imagine how this face looms every day in the window of a concrete cell.
- So you were in my basement?- he rejoices, proud of his architectural masterpiece. And he explains by rote: “I made a basement for potatoes.”
Why does a potato need a two-story bed?
“I thought maybe I’d bring some girl over for the night.” Otherwise, my mother would scold me a lot if I took him into the house.
And more in a simple way Couldn't you keep a woman near you?
He shook his head:
- Where can you find them?
There was no idea of specifically catching anyone - my friend and I went to Ryazan and decided to give the girls a lift. They brought me to Skopin. I told one: “Let’s go sit in the barn. Let's have sexual intercourse." She: “No, no!” Me: “Why not? Then I won’t take you back!” Then I say: “Go and spend the night there until morning.” They went.
- Excuse me, but where did you get in touch with them? On the bed? So the second girl was a witness the whole time?
- Well, what are you talking about! (He was even offended. - G.S.) The second was in large room, and we are in a small one.
Standing, or what?
- Why standing? There - two meters per meter. The stairs are removed, and I laid a blanket on the floor. I actually wanted to take them home. And in the morning I go in, they say: “Man, we are minors and we will report you for rape.” I then closed them and left altogether.
- Well, they would have held me a little and let me go. Why bother for three and a half years?
- One then became pregnant and said: “I want to have an abortion.” I thought: let the girl give birth better.
So the main purpose of keeping them was their future children? What's the point if they would still grow up in other people's families?
- To know that they are somewhere. I would, of course, keep the child for myself, but where would I put him at home? Where did you get it from, they will ask...
Were you not afraid that Lena would die? Did the birth take place in your presence?
- No, I just came in the morning. So, they say, your son was born, congratulations, daddy. I was happy, why... Have you seen my children? (He became terribly animated. - G.S.) Are their eyes blue? How is Lena? The girls constantly told me: let us go - nothing will happen to you, we won’t make any claims. But somehow I didn’t believe it.
“Didn’t you think about killing them?”
- No, what are you... (He looks shocked)
What about bringing new ones into the basement?
- I'm tired of these. Food and water... I leave for work at half past five in the morning and return in the evening. And shopping - buy this, buy that... Still pregnant alone.
Why didn't you protect yourself? Why did you need her to give birth all the time?
- Is it bad? She gave birth to two sons.
In wild, unsanitary conditions: stench, mold...
“Now everything is just damp and dirty there, because a lot of people were trampling around.” And there is no heater. And it’s good there. Purity. They washed the floor every day. The ventilation was on.
- Well, you understood that this couldn’t last forever! What were you going to do next?
- I would let you go. I would have mentally adjusted myself and let go.
Why did you keep a diary?
- It's just like your budget. And then the end of the month comes and you don’t know where the money goes.
How much did it take for them?
- No, about two thousand rubles. And I earn five.
What did you feed them?
- They wrote the list themselves: buckwheat, rice, milk, sugar.
Didn't you order ice cream and caviar?
- Katya loved dried fruits. We celebrated all the holidays there: birthdays, March 8, New Year. The table was assembled - with vodka, with red wine. They were cooking. And I bought albums with paints. Katya even drew a card for me this New Year: “Uncle Vitya, come to your senses!”
- You probably miss them?
- I'm used to them, of course.
How about pets?
- But why? We talked with them a lot. They told me their life, I told mine. We became friends, one might say.
Did they ask you to call their parents?
- I told them myself: write a letter, but so that everything is normal. Lena wrote, but in black colors. I said: “What are you doing, write something easier!” It didn't fix it.
Tell me, are you at least a little ashamed? You deprived them of their best years!
- They are young, they will catch up. (That sounded philosophical)
Is it possible to make up for the abused maternal instinct?
- And Lena will take the children, she said herself.
What means will she use to raise them?
- I will help as much as possible.
Where? From prison?
- How it goes.
What would you say to girls if you met them?
“I would ask their forgiveness for causing them such trouble.” I would wish you happiness. And I would also apologize to their parents for bringing so much grief. If possible, let them forgive.
-Who would you like to see more than anything in the world right now?
- Children. The eldest is already two and a half years old! - And he depicted with his palm the approximate height - just as venerable grandfathers are proud of their grandchildren...
The horror is that he does not look like a tyrant at all. This is just an animal who sincerely considers life in a stuffy bunker and sex on a dirty blanket to be the norm. Please do not be fooled by the wish he addressed to the readers of Komsomolskaya Pravda; there is no sign of repentance there. By “mistakes” we mean something else: not keeping sex slaves for several years, like he did. Mokhov checked: a week is enough...
AS WE HAVE KNOWN FROM UNOFFICIAL, BUT CLOSE TO THE VICTIMS, SOURCES, EKATERINA MARTYNOVA AND ELENA SIMAKHINA, DURING A YEAR, IN ONE GOD FORGOTTEN VILLAGE, BOUGHT THEMSELVES A VILLAGE HOUSE AND ARE PREPARING A SPECIAL COOK IN IT BUNKER FOR YOUR OWN MANIAC MOKHOV. WHETHER THIS IS TRUE OR NOT, THIS WILL BE KNOWN IN 2020, WHEN VIKTOR MOKHOV SHOULD BE OFFICIALLY RELEASED, BUT IT IS COMPLETELY POSSIBLE THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN EARLIER THAN SCHEDULED. IN GENERAL, THE GIRLS WAIT AND REGULARLY VISIT MOKHOV IN PRISON, BRINGING HIM WHAT HE BROUGHT TO THEM IN THE BASEMENT..
Katya Martynova from Ryazan was only 14 years old when, on the way from a disco, she and her 17-year-old friend Lena Samokhina were kidnapped by a sexual maniac. Since then, for more than 3.5 years, namely 1312 days, the girls have been in sexual slavery at a depth of 6 meters underground. Katya and her friend could only believe in higher power that one day they will be saved. When the maniac was arrested and the girls were pulled out of the underground bunker, Katya still for a long time lived with painful memories...Watch Let them talk - On the ground and underground 03/23/2017
“My friend and I understood that it was better to satisfy him than to then remain punished without food and water,” Ekaterina Martynova recalls the painful years of her life, “he raped us in his small room. There were numerous pornographic pictures of girls posted on the wall.” After 13 years, Katya decided to write a book about what she had to endure at that time. In this episode of Let Them Talk, she will openly talk about those terrible 1312 days. Will she be able to look into the eyes of the man for whom she became a victim and prisoner of a sexual maniac?
Let them talk - On the ground and underground
In the heroine’s chair is Ekaterina Martynova, who 11 years ago was already in this studio on the “Five Evenings” program. At that moment, the girl’s memories were still very strong and it was difficult for her to talk about what happened:
- Today I have a completely different mood and I want you to help me. After my release I started a good life: I got married, I had children, but, nevertheless, all this time I did not stop thinking about what happened. Now I would like to be free from all these thoughts. I wrote a book and today I want to put an end to it and just bury this whole story...
“After writing the book, I became much calmer about what happened. And recently I decided to take a bold step: I went to that place in the city of Skopin, where I was in captivity for 1312 days.
In the fall of 2000, residents of Ryazan celebrated City Day. Katya and Lena were returning home after the disco. At the bus stop, an unfamiliar man and a friend drove up to them, who offered them a ride “cheaply and quickly,” and then treated them to alcohol and water that contained sleeping pills... Viktor Mokhov took the girls to the city of Skopin (90 km from Ryazan) to his a private house and ordered the girls to go into the basement. On the first day, the kidnapper raped the girls.
Katya Martynova and Lena Samokhina have not been seen for 44 months sunlight and people. Moreover, Lena had to give birth twice from Mokhov right underground. Every day the girls prayed for their release...At the beginning of May 2004, the rapist was arrested and the girls were released. Mokhov received 17 years in prison.

This scary tale began in the fall of 2000. On Saturday evening, September 30, in the center of Ryazan, on Cathedral Square, a city holiday called “Faith. Hope. Love". A huge number of people gathered at the youth disco organized around the stage. There were also two friends there - 14-year-old schoolgirl Katya Mamontova and 17-year-old vocational school student Lena Samokhina.
The event ended late, city transport was no longer working, and the girls were happy when a white Zhiguli car pulled up next to them. The harmless-looking guy sitting behind the wheel smiled affably: “Don’t be afraid, I’ll get you there cheaply!”
As the car approached their block, the driver's companion took out a bottle. “Come on, girls, let’s drink to the celebration!” Lena refused: “We don’t drink!” But the young woman insisted: “Symbolically, for getting to know each other!” The girls took a sip - the drink turned out to have some strange taste. They woke up... 90 kilometers (!) from home, in the regional town of Skopin, in the courtyard of a house owned by 54-year-old car mechanic Viktor Mokhov.
The man dragged his barely conscious girlfriends into the basement under the garage. His companion smiled disgustingly at parting: “Well, you got caught, girls!”
The owner raped first Lena and then Katya right on the concrete floor
After sitting for several hours in pitch-damp darkness, Lena and Katya finally waited for the key to turn in the keyhole. The owner ordered Lena to go out first. He raped the girl right on the concrete floor, then, pushing her back into the bunker, he called Katya. The situation repeated itself.
Mokhov made it clear to his friends that from now on they would be his sexual slaves, obliged to fulfill any of his desires at the first request of the owner. He didn't even beat them - he tortured them with hunger and thirst. As soon as he did not give his captives water for several days, they became silky and agreed to do anything for a sip of moisture. He could slightly squeeze the ventilation hose brought out - and the slaves would suffocate from suffocation. Or he turned off the light in the bunker right from his house. And electricity is not just the light from a light bulb above the table. This is also warm - after all, in a cold, damp basement, the only salvation from the cold and dampness was an electric stove.
The girls, hoping for salvation, tried to scream and call for help. They even planned, like the Count of Monte Cristo, to make a tunnel from their dungeon. But nothing worked: the bunker was too reliable. As it turned out later, Mokhov spent three years building the dungeon. According to rough estimates, he had to manually shovel and remove about 40 tons of earth in a wheelbarrow. He explained to his elderly mother that he was building a winter room for nutria, “so that their tails do not freeze.” The thickness of the concrete layer on the floor and walls was at least 30 centimeters. Probably Mokhov immediately prepared the premises for a prison - a bulky bunk bed and he lowered the table into the dungeon even before he began to build the ceiling and the hole.
It is almost impossible to notice the hole in the cellar from the outside. The wall of the garage is littered with some rubbish. Having moved it away, you need to pick out the second metal plate from the edge with a screwdriver. Having fallen off, it will open a shallow, narrow passage into which you can only squeeze through on all fours. From the small cellar there is another hole - to a depth of about three meters. Mokhov knew for sure that the 80-year-old mother, moving with the help of a stick, would never get there. At the bottom there were two rooms. One is about three size square meters, the second (where, having opened a palm-thick safe door, you can only get into it by crawling) - about six meters.
The girls lived in the far “room”. Mokhov lowered down for them a single-burner electric stove, an electric kettle, buckets with ropes tied to them - for drinking water and slop. Feeling good, he brought a TV - so that they wouldn’t lag behind life. The captives existed according to the master's schedule. We slept on the first or second shift, depending on when Mokhov went to work. The mechanic, leaving for his auto-aggregate plant, turned off the electricity in the bunker, and night fell for the slaves. The girlfriends are used to saving provisions. Mokhov, having given them half a bucket of water, could disappear for a week. (If something had suddenly happened to him, the captives walled up at a depth of three meters would never have been found). After finishing his shift, the murderer returned home, went down to the cellar, threw a cotton blanket on the floor of the next three-meter-tall room and summoned the concubines of his “harem” one by one. Excited by the obscene pictures hanging on the walls, the “sultan” satisfied his lust. At such moments he felt like a superman.
Having learned that the eldest “concubine” was pregnant, the owner threw a textbook on obstetrics into the bunker
After three months of underground life, the eldest of the girls, 17-year-old Lena, realized with horror that she was pregnant. Later, after her release, she said:
I asked, prayed to this man (Lena never called her tormentor by name - only That One or the Bastard - Author) that he would let me go to the hospital or call a doctor. I was so scared to give birth in this bunker! And if there had been any complication, I probably would have died there underground. But he never agreed. He dropped down a textbook on pediatrics and obstetrics for us, saying, read it, girls, prepare yourself theoretically. Then, closer to the birth, the Bastard brought bandages and cotton wool. We had scissors to cut the umbilical cord. When Vladik was born, he threw old linen tablecloths into the bunker. We tore them into diapers and sewed Vladik a cap and a vest.
It was some kind of horror! If it weren't for Katya...
- How long did your son live with you?
Almost two months. He always wanted to take him away, and Lena and I took turns guarding the baby. And the Bastard cut out our lights for more than a day, we couldn’t stand it, we fell asleep. On January 1, 2002, I woke up and began to feel around the bed with my hand. There was no child. Then Thoth gave us a newspaper to look at, where it was written about the foundling. He wanted to prove that he did not kill the child. A year later I became pregnant again. Olezhek was born on June 6, 2003, on Pushkin’s birthday. He was very weak, not like his older brother. And I had nothing to feed him: milk appeared and then disappeared. He lived with us for four months. When the Bastard wanted to take the boy away, I no longer objected. But Katya and I decided to use this chance! They wrote two notes, one hidden in the baby’s cap, the second in a blanket. Days passed and no one was looking for us. We thought that we had indicated the coordinates poorly. In fact, it turned out that He found and burned the notes, and put his own in their place. He admitted this a month later... Last fall, when we had been in captivity for three years, he sometimes began to let us out into the fresh air at night. Maybe he was afraid that we would rot down there.
In the fall of 2003, residents of one of the apartment buildings They found a baby wrapped in dirty, torn diapers,” Skopin prosecutor Valery Maryushkin told FACTS. — The child was lying on the floor in the entrance, with a note. The woman, who gave her name as Lena, asked to transfer the child to good hands. When the baby was taken to the hospital, his appearance shocked the doctors - the foundling looked like a little old man. With a height of 55 centimeters, the four-month-old boy weighed 2 kilograms 400 grams! There was barely a glimmer of life in him. Two years earlier, a similar incident occurred in Skopin: the same baby abandoned in the entrance and a note with similar content. In both cases, we searched the entire city, looking for the “cuckoo”. But no one thought of comparing the handwriting of the notes...
In the bunker, the girls dreamed of the sun. And when we went outside, we almost went blind
The car mechanic's captives were released only on May 4, 2004 - 1340 (!) days after the abduction. The police found out about them thanks to a student at the Skopino medical school who rented a room from Mokhov’s mother.
At first, the student-tenant noticed personal plot a poorly dressed girl who, in her words, “smelled of dampness and mold,” says Ryazan criminal investigation officer Roman Samsikov. — The stranger was digging up the beds in the garden. Then the owner approached the student with strange questions. Tell me, as a doctor, if you strangle a person with a plastic bag, will it be clear from the corpse that the death was violent?" The future doctor answered that, of course, the pathologist would determine death from asphyxia. The owner did not give up: "How can you kill in such a way that no the expert didn’t get to the bottom of it?” The student shrugged her shoulders and avoided conversations on this topic. But one day she found a note in her tape recorder tucked under the cassette. There were only two names: “Elena Simakhina, Ekaterina Martynova.” And at the bottom there was a small note “Take this to the police.” . The girl at first did not dare to go to the law enforcement officers with such “nonsense”. But, having stayed with her parents in the village for the May holidays, she realized that she somehow didn’t feel comfortable returning to a suspicious house. And she went to her local police officer. He was not too lazy - - honor and praise to him! - I rang up the names in the police reports. And it turned out that the girls named in the note went missing in Ryazan more than three and a half years ago...
A task force immediately left for the address indicated by the tenant, on Oktyabrskaya Street. A mechanic who was repairing one of his two cars was taken to the police station. He didn’t shut himself up for a long time: he admitted to the kidnapping and told how to find the captives.
“I just couldn’t believe the reality of what was happening,” said prosecutor Valery Maryushkin, who participated in the release of the captives. — The faces of the girls who came out of the bunker were white as snow, they shaded their eyes from the sun with their palms. Lena was eight months pregnant and had to be carried out in her arms.
Going down, Maryushkin saw drawings on the walls of the bunker. On the sheets torn from the album, a mermaid was waving her tail, and a cheerful cow was looking at a flower. And above the bed the cheerful sun was smiling all over the wall... The prosecutor’s throat tightened with pity.
Katya and Lena came out into the world wearing the same clothes they wore to the disco in September 2000. The first is in trousers and a sweater, the second is in a jacket and mini-skirt. The clothes, naturally, were dirty and “smelly.” But on the pale faces of the captives were brightly lined lips. Later, the unfortunate people said that Victor, bringing them lipstick, demanded that they “always look like those girls from porn magazines.”
Immediately after her release, Lena Samokhina, staggering from weakness, was taken to Ryazan maternity hospital No. 2. When asked if she would keep the baby, the girl hesitated: “I don’t know yet... I hate his father.”
Two weeks later she gave birth to her third son. But the boy was not viable and died soon after birth. “Maybe it’s for the best...” said the doctors who observed the woman in labor.
“I don’t need that kind of memory!”
Lena’s mother told me that the girls had been found,” Katya’s mother, Irina Mikhailovna Mamontova, told the FACTS correspondent. According to her relatives, for three and a half years she never once doubted that her daughter was alive. “I just believed in it and waited.” One day I went to see a soothsayer. She looked at the photographs and said: “I don’t see them. Either dead or somewhere underground.” Looking at Lena’s photo, she added: “This girl had it worse than yours.” Now I am so happy that my daughter is back!
— Tell us how this long-awaited meeting went?
Rushing to the police station, where I was called to pick up my daughter, I tried to control myself. But when I saw Katyusha, tears flowed from my eyes. So thin, my hair came out in clumps! I rushed to her with questions, but she snapped: Mom, I won’t tell you, I want to forget everything as quickly as possible. At the prosecutor’s office, they say, I wrote four sheets of paper, I don’t want to repeat it.
- Really, you didn’t tell me anything?
It's thawed out a little at home. But if something is spoken about, it is in separate phrases. He refuses to eat meat: he says Mokhov brought them such disgusting minced meat that it made him sick to his stomach. Katya cooked cutlets for Lena - she had to eat, because she was either pregnant or nursing all the time - but she couldn’t do it herself. I sat on potatoes and cabbage all this time. When I found out that my Katya delivered two babies, I almost fainted! I learned to sew robes as a trousseau for the children. Now he doesn’t sit at home for a minute: he either tidies up or washes the dishes. “Rest,” I say, “daughter!” And she told me: “I’m not used to sitting idle.”
— A lot of drawings were found in the bunker. Was Katya good at drawing before?
No, she wasn’t interested in brushes and paints before. Her talent emerged in prison. There I started writing poetry. I filled a whole notebook: about love, about nature. Dedicated to Lena, me, and older sister Asya. But when the operatives suggested that their daughter take drawings and poems from the bunker as a keepsake, she seemed to snap: “I don’t need such a memory!”
Irina Vasilievna, didn’t you ask your daughter why the girls didn’t dare to attack their tormentor? After all, there were two of them, and he was one. Besides, they say, he is by no means a hero...
There was no brick or stone suitable for a sudden hit on the head in the basement. There was a knife. But not everyone will decide to attack a living person with a knife... I asked my daughter: maybe they could pity him? And she told me: “We crawled on our knees, Mom. They kissed his feet, but it was all in vain.”
-- According to Katya, for the last six months Victor has been taking her out to get some air. Maybe she could run away?
He never let them out of the bunker together. He took one out and locked the other as a hostage. He threatened: “If you decide to run away, your girlfriend will be in trouble.” He tied it to his hand with a rope. Katyusha said that she saw an old woman, his mother, in the yard several times. But she was afraid to ask her for help - she was sure that she was at the same time with her son.
How is your daughter feeling now?
For two weeks in a row she convinced me that everything was fine. And yesterday she suddenly let it slip: “Mom, how everything hurts!” I'll take her to the doctors...
“If I knew what my son was doing in the cellar, I would have reported him to the police”
At the auto parts plant where 54-year-old Viktor Mokhov worked, they still can’t believe that a former party member, a reliable and harmless worker, turned out to be a sexual maniac.
A good master,” his colleagues shrug their shoulders. - By character - quieter than water, lower than the grass. He was even nicknamed Seal...
They say you can’t hide a sewing bag from your neighbors’ eyes! But we couldn’t find out much from Mokhov’s neighbors either.
“I saw that Victor often went into his basement and spent some time there,” said one neighbor. -- So what? I thought he was making something... It never even occurred to me that he had such horror there!
Another neighbor, knitting her eyebrows, said:
But it always seemed to me that he was too secretive and cautious. He walked in, walked out, and the doors were locked.
All that remained was to talk to the “hero’s” mother. The Mokhovs' house looks no different from the neighbors'. Strongly built, with several rows of barbed wire over a high fence (everyone here has this). 77-year-old Alisa Valentinovna Mokhova showed me holes dug in the garden:
The police did their best. Everyone was looking for the dead. They took away my son’s old trousers, stained with ocher. They thought it was blood. And my boy, even when he was cutting rabbits, closed his eyes.
The old woman said that Victor was married once - in 1979, when he was not yet thirty. His wife, his age, lived in the Mokhov house for only three months and disappeared. Did not get along. Since then he lived alone.
-You didn’t ask your son why he doesn’t get married?
Yes, he ate his head with such questions. But he laughed it off: where, they say, am I in my sixties. He had many cohabitants, all of them young. One 24-year-old woman lived with us for seven months. Then, however, she ran away.
“Did you know that your son holds captives in the bunker?”
The old woman cries, pressing a handkerchief to her eyes:
Lord, what a shame, I still can’t believe it! If I had found out about the captives, I would have reported him to the police myself! The whole city is now gossiping about us, the neighbors are in shock.
When she mentions that just a few tens of meters from her house, two grandchildren were born (not into the light, but into darkness!), the dream of whom Alisa Valentinovna had cherished for many years, the woman again bursts into tears.
My son is a monster! But he was such gold - good, kind! He always brought his salary home, didn’t smoke, and didn’t swear. I hardly drank. The neighbors were jealous. I can’t wrap my head around how he could do such a terrible thing!
Judging by the stories of your son’s captives, for the last six months he has been taking them out for walks. Have you never seen girls?
The woman told how she once woke up at night from fussing in her son’s room. Shouting: “What kind of whore did you bring there?”, she rushed to him to restore order. It was then for the first time that I saw a black-haired girl huddled under the blanket. (Maybe the 54-year-old son’s complexes are the result of his mother’s inflexibility?) Then Alisa Valentinovna saw the brunette several more times. “The little black one” was digging a vegetable garden with her son and grilling kebabs over a fire. She even went into the house to wash the dishes. For some reason, it occurred to the mother that the girl was a Chechen refugee sheltered with neighbors.
She didn’t complain to me about anything, and I didn’t pester her with questions.
Suddenly the old woman suddenly changes her tone and begins to defend her son.
Why didn't she run away? Didn’t you jump over the fence or rush towards the neighbors? So that’s not what I wanted! This kind of life suited her!
“I always dreamed of procreation”
During interrogation after his arrest, Mokhov admitted that while building the bunker, he consoled himself with thoughts of how he would have sex with young captives there. I went “hunting” for potential victims more than once. I dreamed that there would be two of them: a blonde and a brunette.
He was asked why he did not kill the babies. The detainee replied that he loved children very much and could not destroy innocent souls. Besides, these were his sons, and he always dreamed of procreation.
But his slaves were doomed.
Mokhov would get rid of them over time, he believes prosecutor Valery Maryushkin. “He was very afraid of prison and understood: if he let the girls go, they would immediately go to the police. However, even if he had not killed the captives, they themselves would have died of disease in such conditions. And no one would ever know about their fate.
Viktor Mokhov is currently being held in pre-trial detention center in Ryazan. He was charged with kidnapping (punishable, according to the Russian Criminal Code, from 6 to 15 years in prison), rape of minors (from 8 to 15 years). It is possible that abandonment in danger will be added here (meaning babies abandoned in cold hallways), which provides for imprisonment for up to one year. Mokhov's companion, who treated the gullible Ryazan women to vodka, has been put on the wanted list.
Both boys, the sons of a rapist and his slave, are in orphanages in Ryazan. Before this, Oleg and Vladik were considered orphans. But now that the children have a mother and father, they have been removed from the list of children offered for adoption. Now the kids will have to wait until their fate is determined.
In the fall of 2014, the popular singer Katya Lel starred in a video clip for one of her songs, “Let Them Talk.” The release of the video was timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the artist’s work. It is noteworthy that the famous hockey athlete Alexander Ovechkin starred in the video. Watch Katya Lel’s video clip “Let Them Talk” on our website.
A few months before the premiere of the video, one after another news about the singer’s upcoming release began to appear in the media: the fact that Alexander Ovechkin would participate in the filming of the video could not help but interest the tabloids. Of course: the world champion and head of the Russian national hockey team will make his debut as an actor!
Let them talk about Katya Lel's video
The video “Let Them Talk” by Katya Lel was shot in gray tones, but it cannot be called gloomy. Director: Sergey Tkachenko.
The video was filmed and released on TV screens, and was also posted on the famous video network Youtube. Regarding the plot of the video, it is worth noting that one of its characters, played by Ovechkin, simply stands in one place for almost the entire 3.5 minutes, and his facial expression is extremely serious. But as for the main character (Katya Lel), she got a rather dynamic role - the singer constantly wriggles around the man. In the video you will certainly see a hockey goal, a stick and a puck - otherwise why is Alexander Ovechkin here?!
Katya Lel and Alexander Ovechkin
In an interview with various publications, the hockey player admits that this work is his debut - Alexander, according to him, had not previously acted in video clips and, moreover, had not tried himself as an actor. But in fact, Ovechkin has already starred in at least two videos: “Puck, Puck” (Irina Allegrova) and “Champions” (Sasha Bely). In addition, the athlete was invited to film numerous commercials.
“I have been friends with Katya for a long time - we met in 2008 and since then we have kept in touch all the time. Katya is very talented, and it was a pleasure to star in the same video with her. And I’m very glad that I starred in a music video and not in a movie, because in the latter case I would have had to learn the lyrics and get into character. Here everything is simple: pretend to be a serious man and that’s it!” - says Ovechkin.
Katya Lel - short biography
Ekaterina Lel (until 2000 - Chuprinina) was born on September 20, 1974 in Nalchik. Her debut on the big stage took place in 1998, when the girl released the full-length album “Champs Elysees”. The song “Lights” instantly became popular throughout the post-Soviet space.
However, truly enormous success came to the artist in 2002-2004 - at that time Katya Lel met the successful producer Maxim Fadeev. The songs “Musi-Pusi” and “My Marmalade” became mega-popular, as did the album “Jaga-Jaga” released in 2004.
