There is nothing more enjoyable than creating New Year's crafts with your own hands.
On this magnificent holiday, which gives us the pleasant smell of tangerines and fir branches, it is better to decorate the house in a special way.
It's no longer so interesting to buy in a store, Christmas decorations and other decorations.
Today it is in fashion to create everything yourself, because it is more valuable and it contains a piece of your soul.
No hiccups, be quiet! The other stop is outside the historic center, surrounded by olive trees. There is a pajara, a circular structure, perfectly insulated and resistant to geological movements. This is a special building, especially for such a stunning location, between dry stone walls and secular trees.
The historic center of Spongano is a continuous series of elegant buildings and religious buildings. Ancient ovens and courtyards have been renovated into living spaces or precious homes. It seems incredible that a small village in the province of Lecce can contribute such a legacy. But it is something real and tangible, like the world you breathe as you lazily stroll through the alleys, wrapped in the kindness of people who open your heart.
Besides, you won’t see such creative New Year’s crafts on store shelves. Everything is typical and the same as thousands of people.
Be original, please your children, loved ones and, most of all, yourself. No more spending money on expensive new Year decoration, it is better to spend them on gifts.
New Year's craft Santa Claus from a pine cone
Festivals and festivals in the interior of Salento: the Spongano tradition
The lamps, the band that accompanies the statue, the people strongly involved and the hymn to Madonna that resonates in the streets of the country. But also moments of laughter and deception, because the people of Salento never lose the ability to attract visitors, irony and hospitality. A true Goliadar party between themed shows, citizen performances and races that remind you of the Games Without Borders program. Throughout the year, the Rioni Committee organizes several citizenship events, both during the holidays and for a nice Sunday event in the square. But for those on the Salento coast in the summer, it is impossible to take part in this event!
- We are participating in the procession of the “Madonna of Lourdes”, to which the saints are very devoted.
- In July, the “Tournament of the Regions” takes place in Spongano.
- The Rioni Committee Referendum shows us videos of past editions.
A funny and cheerful grandfather, which is very easy to make. To do this, take:
- big bump;
- plasticine;
- a sheet of black and red paper;
- scissors;
- paints and brushes;
- floss or regular sewing threads.
Do-it-yourself Santa Claus from a pine cone will become the most interesting New Year's craft, because a holiday without Santa Claus is not a holiday, but with such a sweet and kind old man - the whole New Year will also pass.
One of these places is undoubtedly the city of Tryavna
Somewhere where the air is clean, silence prevails, the food is good, the views are intruding, and the people are warm and warm. The city of Tryavna is a place where since ancient times people have lived in harmony with environment. In the turbulent times of the past, the city gave them protection from their enemies, their high peaks and their protected valleys. Loamy grass and centuries-old forests provided the population with a means of subsistence.
Tryavna is structured like a rustic village by people performing paramilitary functions. The order stated that in the mountains there is a place called Trnava, where it is advisable to create a settlement whose inhabitants, against the obligation to protect and preserve the passage of robbers, are exempted from state burdens and ordinary fees. This gives taxpayers tax benefits and complete freedom.
We will need plasticine in three colors: black, yellow and red.
The floss threads can be replaced with any other ones. I wouldn't say that sewing threads will excellent option, it’s better to take knitting ones. But if you don’t have any other than sewing ones, then just use more of them.
People migrate to the city from Edirne, Teteven and others. The lack of fertile land prompted people to seek other livelihoods and opportunities such as trade. So, after we've briefly looked at interesting story Tryavny, it’s time to tell you about accommodation options.
Already with the choice of hotel I got the impression that there is wide choose guest houses and hotels whose external architecture and interiors are in a completely preserved Renaissance style. After we got together and booked 3 rooms, it was time to head to Tryavna. This happened while traveling around 16 in the morning of Burgas, just a few hours before dozens of cars broke down on the Trakia highway between Aytos and Karnobat. Luckily we took the sub-Balkan road to make it safer given the bad weather.
How to make Santa Claus from a pine cone with your own hands
The New Year's Santa Claus craft is done in just a few steps:
- creating a torso;
- head;
- decoration.
We will make a body from a pine cone, which we will thoroughly paint red.
I used regular watercolor paints. I applied two coats and it turned out a deep red color.
It is especially advisable to have a full tank, water, warm clothes and chocolate in the car. We arrived early in the morning in Tryavna. The rooms were satisfactorily large and well furnished. The Renaissance style of the interior has been completely preserved, with the exception of some more modern items such as a TV, an additional fan, etc. Which were present in the rooms. The entire hotel is heated solid fuel. Hot water, at least in our impressions there was a lot. It never ended.
Our bathroom was well equipped with a shower and very clean and tidy. The windows are equipped with wooden shutters, offering beautiful views of the square and the clock tower. A small negative may have been that the beds were not dorm size, but two beds per person and half, but they were experienced. 🙂. On the ground floor from the courtyard there is a cafe-bar where, if you have an additional payment with Dobrinka, you will be served breakfast and coffee. And from the street there is the hotel gallery, where you can see and buy works of local artists.
You can also use gouache, I think it will look even better.
We take a black piece of plasticine and make boots and gloves.
While the cone is drying, you can start creating a head for New Year's Santa Claus.
The undisputed leader was the one where we actually celebrated the New Year. The brewery is famous own production live beer produced using Belgian recipes and technologies, and from Belgian raw materials. The menu is not very rich, but well selected and balanced. Be sure to try their beer. The pub is part of the National Pubs 100. Their tartar is excellent and the calf and pork knuckle with sides is a must try.
The atmosphere is exceptionally pleasant, slightly broken and different from the typical taverns you can visit in Tryavna. The choice of music and the lack of hallga made a good impression. The service is good, adequate and timely. However, on New Year's Eve, the DJ decided not to just kill us with retro music, but even the elders thought that the music was too retro, too halga. Overall, the playlist was quite chaotic, indiscriminate, with no regard for guests. Because of the power of the music, it was almost impossible to tell two tales.
The head is made of plasticine. Roll yellow (white or beige) plasticine into a circle.
Take the floss threads and cut off ¼ of the skein for the beard. To make your beard fluffy, you can cut the bottom of the threads.
The rest of the threads will go to the hair.
Apart from this minus in the new year, the restaurant is excellent. There is a beautiful external part which has a picturesque view of the old part of the city along the Trevnenska River. The waiters were quite slow even though the restaurant was half full. The soups were cold and one tongue in oil had to return it three times until it was reheated in microwave oven.
After the third reheating in the microwave, the chef was visibly upset by the appearance of the calf's tongue, which left me with a new - warm. We also had lunch at Balabanov's house. The interior style was typical of a Tryavna tavern. Very cozy again good service. Make sure you try the homemade bread crumbs made on site.
Gluing your beard is easy. We work with plasticine, and it is known to be a malleable material for creating New Year's crafts.
We push the threads for Santa Claus's beard from the pine cone into the plasticine and disguise it, smoothing the plasticine.
Do the same with your hair.
We make our grandfather's eyes and nose. Traditionally made of black and red flowers.
Directly above Balabanovo Kassa is the Old Grape tavern, which is also highly recommended by locals, but we were not able to visit. We can only guess what aromas were made inside by the smell of cabbage siroles outside through the entrance :)
Unfortunately, in winter the possibilities are limited only within the city. Otherwise, we understood from the locals that Tryavna's real season is summer, during which there are many interesting tourist sites throughout the city that are worth visiting.
Craftsman Street is a place where you will fully immerse yourself in the craft spirit of Tryavna. Nippers, cutters, churchmen, woodcarvers, artists. You may also encounter crafts such as candy, coffee, ladies, men, women, men, women, men, women, men, women and others. Beautiful oil and watercolor paintings of Tryavna's landscapes, painted by local artists, often line the streets. A truly valuable souvenir that can decorate your home.
You can experiment and make your eyes out of beads and your nose out of sequins.
The head is ready, now you need to make a hat for Santa Claus. We will make it from colored paper.
Roll the paper into a cone and glue it.
One of the greatest treasures and riches. For many years, the Chakhniki company has been engaged in Turkish art. in two and a half cedar bees 7-8 times, and 7 and 8 cents - two and a half times. Today, on the eve of the supremacy of the Chaconian Cult Church, there are lyrical poets and trackers who know how to curse the coward, love and die.
The city of Tryavna is a wonderful Bulgarian magic that everyone should experience at least once in their life. Japanese dancing with locals at the Rose Festival. This is not a local story, but the most important long-term development strategy for Kazanlak, developed jointly with experts from the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
We cover the bottom of the hat with cotton wool and insert a boom box.
We attach all the parts of the New Year's craft together.
And for decoration we make a belt from black colored paper. It turns out this is Santa Claus from a pine cone. He looks almost like he's alive.
For this, the more holidays, the more tourists and more profits for the tourism industry. Thus, the Rose Festival remains the only generator of a significant flow of tourists in the Rose Valley. Days of Thracian culture - at the end of summer - and the New Year's wine fiesta.
With the firm financial hand of the Japanese, they developed an impressive program of Thracian traditions: firstly, a theater reconstruction of the Thracian womb burial “Mystery in the Valley.” Production - famous choreographer Margarita Gradchilyeva; performers and original costumes are from the Kazanlak professional theater “Lyubomir Kabakchiev”. Place and time of the show - after sunset, in the meadow to the unique Tomb of Kazanlak.
New Year's craft “Winter in a glass”
A very original craft that can be used as a decoration New Year's interior.

Children will be happy to help you create “Winter in a Glass.”
Second - National Scientific Conference in fractology. Next to it, tourists will arrive with boats and boats, and with four panoramic elevators they will go for a walk among the ancient ruins of Seitopolis. At the premiere, half of Kazanlak and many tourists. But early autumn and an icy Balkan wind, although only on September 18, left audiences watching the show in a bright and gossipy way. That is why the organizers delayed the Thracian holidays from the beginning of September. Although the question remains open - where do the limits of kitsch go?
The forest fountain that created the first private museum. But, on the other hand, the residents of Kazanlak enjoy the April cherry blossom festival. Yes, as Kazanlak is famous, except for the roses and cherry trees sown on all the streets. And one more thing - in the spirit of the “Endless Feast” strategy. The latest hurricane for local residents in the tourism sector is the new, fifth holiday in Kazanlak.

- ribbon;
- PVA glue;

Any decorations will do. You can use sequins, beads and other decorative elements.
You can put children's toys from Kinders related to New Year's themes into the glass as contents.
I didn’t have any kinder ones, so I decided to make a Christmas tree with gifts.
How to make a New Year's craft “Winter in a glass”
What materials will you need:
- cardboard box;
- album sheets;
- colored paper;
- PVA glue;
- cotton wool;
- scissors;
- mechanism for watches.
The watch mechanism can be purchased at the store. It is not expensive, but if you have an old alarm clock or a non-working clock, you can get the mechanism from there.
How to make the basis of a New Year's clock
We start our New Year's craft by covering the box with white album sheets.
We cut out the lid of the box into a triangle to match the roof and also paste it over.
After this, we begin to glue the watch with colored paper. You can choose different colors, even make them multi-colored.
How to make a roof for a New Year's clock
I made the roof from cotton wool and cardboard. We fold the cardboard into a triangle and begin to cover it with cotton wool.
It's quite easy to do. It turns out this is a snow-covered New Year's roof.
For beauty, we added a chimney. You can make something of your own. For example, Santa Claus climbing onto the roof, various birds and other decorations.
Use scissors to make a hole in the center of the clock and insert the mechanism.
New Year's clock decor
You can decorate it however you like. We decided to make a dial out of sequins and paint it with a corrector.
We liked drawing the most. Lots of snowflakes, snowmen, gifts and beautiful patterns are the best decoration.
Anything that comes to your mind, you can draw with a proofreader.
If you are good at drawing with paints, pencils or felt-tip pens, you can use them.
Give free rein to your imagination, and you will get an original New Year's craft “Clock”!

New Year's craft scheme
1. Prepare several paper cylinders. The height of one cylinder will be equal to the height of a mini coffee cup, so choose the size that suits you.
2. Cut out circles from cardboard. For each cup you need 2 circles: one the same diameter as the cylinder (just circle the cylinder), and the other a little smaller to fit inside the cylinder. The large circle will be the bottom of the cup.
3. Prepare some brown paper and cut out a circle with a larger diameter than the small white circle you previously cut out. Glue this piece into the middle of the brown circle. Set aside for now.
4. Prepare a white cardboard sheet. Wrap the cylinder completely with this sheet. Cut off the excess parts, but leave 1 cm at the edges to make small cuts and glue the paper to the cylinder with PVA glue (see pictures).
5. Cut from white sheet cardboard circle to cover the bottom of the cylinder.
6. Take the reserved brown circle glued on top of the large white circle, apply a little glue to the edges and insert it into the mug, gluing the blank. There will be nothing wrong if the workpiece is glued unevenly.
7. Prepare a needle and use it to make a small hole in the top of the mug so that you can thread it and hang it on the tree.
8. Let's make a handle. To begin, prepare a toothpick and cut pieces of the same width from the sheet (lengthwise).
8.2 Soak the paper tubes in water to make them easier to bend.
8.3 Once you have bent the tubes into a C shape, leave them to dry. To keep them in shape, you can attach them with a button to foam plastic or plywood.
9. Take a utility knife and cut the paper handles for the cups so that they can be easily glued.
10. Let's decorate. Crumple a small piece of paper napkin (you can roll it into a rose shape) and glue it to the cocoa - this will be the cream.
10.1 Also cut a small piece of plastic tube, glue it to a piece of paper first and wait until the glue dries.
10.2 Carefully separate the tube and the paper circle covering it from the sheet. Now it’s very easy to glue the tube to the cup.
The cup is ready, you can decorate your Christmas tree or room with it.

4. Draw the eyes. Use thin brushes. Wait for the paint to dry and make your eyes sparkle by adding white paint.
5. Draw the beak (small orange triangle drawn with the top of the head facing down).
