The interior of any room consists of objects and surfaces. Accordingly, its attractiveness and originality depend on the appearance of the components and the correct relative position. And therefore more important is not the absolute value of the subject, but the ratio.
Participates in this process on an equal footing with a sofa or wardrobe.
Modern models of television receivers are noticeably different from their predecessors. And if such qualities as brightness, contrast, viewing angle, etc. are important to the user, then such indicators as width, length, thickness, and even weight are no less significant for design.
LCD TV, plasma panels, OLED TVs literally compete with each other in terms of diagonal size and minimum thickness. As a result, the modern apparatus looks like a flat quadrilateral, which, however, has a considerable weight.
In accordance with the new models of television receivers, television cabinets and stands have also changed. Great length and shallow depth have become perhaps the most characteristic feature.
Why is that?
- A television is neither a vertical nor a horizontal piece, because despite its relatively large length, its proportions are still considered to be close to a square. To balance such a large square element, a pronounced horizontal or even larger square is required - a plasma stand.
- It is long and narrow pedestals that most often have console execution. And the latter are a spectacular design technique that visually expands the space of the room.
- The elongated shape with a small depth allows you to equip the compartments with doors and drawers. At the same time, the feeling of bulkiness does not appear, unlike models with a short length.
Product Features
A long cabinet is more versatile.
- Firstly, it serves not only as a TV stand, but also as an additional table. Of course, you can’t use it as a coffee table, but you can place a lamp, books, a vase of flowers, and decorative items.
- Secondly, a long cabinet serves as an excellent basis for a composition, which includes not only a TV and a stand, but also more, a pencil case, shelves, wall cabinets and so on.
- Thirdly, the combination of great length and blind doors, decorated in a classic spirit, allows you to correctly fit modern devices into a classic interior.

Design features
- The simplest option is a long, small width, based on one or two shelves, a cabinet standing on legs or bases. It can be mobile despite its long length and be equipped with rollers. Offers both modern and classic design.
- Console pedestal - a stationary model, fixed to the wall. This option is used for any interior, as the free space between the piece of furniture and the floor gives it a feeling of lightness.
Both designs are used for conventional TV installation - on the countertop, and for wall mounting. In the first case, you should pay attention to the "carrying capacity" of the model, and you need to purchase the product with some margin. In the second case, the cabinet acts as a storage system for additional equipment and is selected solely for aesthetic reasons.
- - the TV here is also mounted on a plane, but not the base wall, but the structure that is connected with the cabinet into a single whole. As a rule, the ensemble includes pencil cases, shelves, and even hanging elements, if it is designed for installation near the wall. There are models that assume placement in the center of the room, in which case the plane with the TV can rotate.
The ratio of drawers, open shelves and compartments with doors is determined by the style of execution. In general, the longer the pedestal, the more blind compartments can be allowed. Open shelves contribute to maintaining the perspective of the room, the combination of closed and open compartments looks more interesting. Deaf doors are typical for classic design, made of transparent or matte material - for modern ones.

Product design
Standard materials are used in the manufacture of elongated cabinets. But since the weight of the TVs for which they are intended is usually greater, more attention is paid to their strength and reliability.
There are models with a long length, but withstanding a low load - for small LCD TVs, for wall-mounted equipment, and so on. Therefore, before acquiring a vending cabinet, be sure to specify what maximum weight the product is designed for.
- Classic design - I mean not traditional for TV racks, but designed in the style of classicism. In the vast majority of cases, this is with blind doors and a dark glass top. This option best connects the classic interior with modern technology. If possible, at least one cabinet compartment should have open shelves.
Carved elements are used on classical models, but with great care: the more traditional decorations, the more expressive the wood structure, the more difficult it is to combine with the technique.
- A baroque model can simply be decorated with carvings, or it can be a more original version. Italian designers offer to choose a TV in a white case, and make a TV cabinet from MDF with a white acrylic facade and solid wood, similar in color to the wood in the living room. Against the background of glossy acrylic, the screen does not look alien, and the intricate baroque ornaments in the form of appliqué do not seem overly lush.
- For modern styles, the choice is extremely wide. More often, glass and metal are used in the design, but acrylic panels do not stand aside. Solid wood or veneer is used less often, and dark, uniform wood is preferred.
