The Mother of God in front of Her “Tikhvin” icon
The Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, according to legend, was painted by the Apostle Evangelist Luke. Until the 14th century, this icon remained in Constantinople, but suddenly in 1383 the image of the Most Pure Virgin disappeared, appearing in Rus', on Lake Ladoga. The newfound icon could not stay in one place for a long time. The people built chapels for the icon and laid out wooden churches, but the Most Pure Virgin did not deign to remain there. Finally, the icon of the Mother of God stopped behind the Tikhvinka River, where first a wooden and then a stone church was built. Under Tsar Ivan the Terrible, a monastery was established in these places.
In 1613–1614, Swedish troops, having captured Veliky Novgorod, tried to conquer the Tikhvin Monastery. Although the monastery was fortified with stone walls, the monks did not hope to withstand the onslaught of the enemy. Deciding to flee from the monastery, the brethren went to the temple for the miraculous image of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, but they could not move the icon, no matter how hard they tried. Then cowardice left the monks: placing all their hope in the Most Pure Virgin, they remained in the monastery.
And a miracle happened: the well-trained Swedish army was unable to take the besieged monastery, which was defended by a few monks and laymen. In the end, the Swedes began to see either huge Russian troops approaching the monastery from Moscow, or the heavenly army. Fear seized the besiegers, and, abandoning everything, they fled.
After the establishment of the Soviet regime, in the 20s, the Tikhvin Monastery was closed, and the miraculous icon became an exhibit of the local history museum. During the Great Patriotic War fascist troops, having occupied Tikhvin, retreating, took with them the miraculous icon. Time passed, and the miraculous image moved further and further away from Russia, eventually ending up in Chicago, America. And only in 2004 the miraculous Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God returned to the monastery on the Tikhvinka River.
The day of celebration of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God is July 9 (June 26, old style).

To her, Most Holy Lady, have mercy on Your weak people: gather the scattered, guide those who have gone astray to the right path, support old age, educate young people with chastity, raise infants, and look upon us all with the gaze of Your merciful intercession, raise us up from the depths of sin and enlighten our heartfelt eyes to in the sight of salvation, be merciful to us here and there, in the land of earthly arrival and at the terrible judgment of Your Son: having ceased in faith and repentance from this life, make our fathers and brothers live in eternal life with the Angels and with all the saints. Prayer to the holy righteous Simeon the God-Receiver
The Gospel tradition says that Elder Simeon was a righteous and pious man. The Holy Spirit rested on Simeon, and it was revealed to him that the Savior would soon come to the world.
By order of the Egyptian king Ptolemy, seventy learned men were chosen to translate the books of the Holy Scriptures from Hebrew into Greek, including Simeon. Translating the book of the prophet Isaiah, he came to the words: “Behold, the Virgin will be with child and give birth to a Son,” and he doubted. He was about to insert the word “wife” instead of “Virgin,” when suddenly an angel appeared to him and, holding his hand, said: “Have faith in what is written, and you yourself will see its fulfillment, for you will not die until you see one born of a pure Virgin - Christ the Lord."
When the Lord Jesus Christ was brought to the temple by the Most Pure Mother of God on the fortieth day after His Nativity, righteous Simeon, led by the Holy Spirit, also came there. The elder recognized the long-awaited Messiah in the Baby and, taking him in his arms, said: “Now, O Master, dost let Thy servant go in peace, according to Thy word: for mine eyes have seen Thy salvation, which Thou hast prepared before the face of all people: a light to be revealed by the tongue, and the glory of Thy people Israel.”.
After this, Simeon the God-Receiver prophesied about the suffering of Christ and His crucifixion. According to legend, Simeon the God-Receiver reached a ripe old age, living to be 360 years old: God was pleased to prolong the life of the holy elder so that he could live until that wondrous hour when our Savior was born of the Virgin.
Simeon the God-Receiver is considered the patron saint of infants; people pray to him to preserve their health.
The day of remembrance of the holy righteous Simeon the God-Receiver is February 16 (February 3, old style).
Troparion, tone 4
Simeon the Elder is rejoicing today; he has taken the Infant of the Eternal God into his hand, asking to be released from the bonds of the flesh and crying out: my eyes have seen Your worldly salvation.
O God-receiving Simeon! Hear us, sinful servants of God ( names), and do not take away your holy protection from us, pray for the goodness of the Lord, for He may turn away His anger from us, righteously moved towards us by our deeds, and, despising our countless sins, turn us to the path of repentance and establish us on the paths of His commandments . Protect our life in peace with your prayers and ask for good haste in all good things, granting us everything we need for life and piety, so that we may live a quiet and silent life in all piety and purity, and thus we will achieve eternal peace, where we will be worthy of the Heavenly Kingdom of Christ God ours, to Him is all glory due, with the Father and His Most Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Second prayer
Oh, great servant of God, God-receptive Simeon! Standing before the Throne of the Great King and our God Jesus Christ, we have great boldness in approaching Him, in our arms, for the sake of salvation, we will rush to the one who wills. To you, as a powerful intercessor and a strong prayer book for us, we, sinners and unworthy, resort. Pray for His Goodness, for He may turn away His anger from us, righteously moved towards us by our deeds, and, despising our countless sins, turn us to the path of repentance and establish us on the path of His commandments. Protect our life in peace with your prayers, and ask for good haste in all good things, granting us everything we need for life and piety. Just as in ancient times Great Novograd, by the appearance of your miraculous icon, delivered us from the destruction of mortals, so now we and all the cities and villages of our country have been delivered from all misfortunes and misfortunes and vain deaths by your intercession, and from all enemies, visible and invisible, with your protection. Let us live a quiet and silent life in all piety and purity, and, having passed this temporary life in the world, we will achieve eternal peace, where we will be made worthy of the Heavenly Kingdom of Christ our God. To Him all glory is due, together with the Father and His Most Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Prayer to the Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva Pyatnitsa
Saint Paraskeva Friday has always enjoyed special love among the Orthodox people. In Rus' she was revered as an assistant in women's cares, a patroness household and agricultural work.
The Holy Martyr Paraskeva lived in the 3rd century in Iconium in a rich and pious family. The saint's parents especially revered the day of the Lord's suffering - Friday, and therefore named their daughter, born on this day, Paraskeva, which translated from Greek means Friday. With all her heart, young Paraskeva loved the purity and high morality of virgin life and took a vow of celibacy. She wanted to devote her life to God and the enlightenment of the pagans with the light of the faith of Christ. After the death of her parents, Saint Paraskeva distributed all her property to the poor, accepted monasticism and began preaching the Gospel to the pagans. Tradition tells of the severe torments of the cross that befell this saint.
The activities of Paraskeva were reported to Emperor Antoninus Pius, and he ordered her to be subjected to brutal torture. A red-hot helmet was put on Paraskeva's head and thrown into a cauldron of boiling tar. However, the martyr remained unharmed. When the emperor looked into the cauldron, the saint threw a few drops of hot resin into his face, and he went blind. The emperor began to ask Paraskeva for healing, and she healed him. After this, Antonin released Saint Paraskeva.
One day Paraskeva came to the city where Asclepius was the ruler. Here she was again sentenced to death: they took her to a cave where a huge snake lived so that it would devour the martyr. But Paraskeva made the sign of the cross over the snake, and he immediately died. The ruler and townspeople, seeing such a miracle, believed in Christ and released Paraskeva.
Arriving in a city where a certain Tarasius was the ruler, Saint Paraskeva was again captured by the pagans. She was asked to make a sacrifice to the idol. With a strong heart, trusting in God, the saint refused this, for which she endured great torment. The martyr was tied to a tree, her body was tormented with iron nails, and then thrown into prison. But God did not abandon the holy sufferer and miraculously healed her. But in the morning the executioners resumed the torture and finally cut off her head.
Icons of the holy martyr protect family well-being and happiness. They pray to Saint Paraskeva Friday for worthy grooms, infertility, for the health of babies, in serious illnesses.
Memorial Day of the Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva Friday - November 10 (October 28 (old style).
O holy and blessed martyr of Christ Paraskeva, maiden beauty, praise of the martyrs, purity of image, magnanimous mirrors, wonder of the wise, guardian of the Christian faith, idolatry flattery of the accuser, champion of the Divine Gospel, zealot of the Lord’s commandments, vouchsafed to come to the haven of eternal rest and in the devil of your Bridegroom Christ God, brightly rejoicing, adorned with the supreme crown of virginity and martyrdom! We pray to you, holy martyr, to be sorrowful for us to Christ God, whose most blessed sight will always rejoice. Pray to the All-Merciful One, with His word open the eyes of the blind, that He may deliver us from the illness of our hair, both physical and mental; with your holy prayers, kindle the dark darkness that has come from our sins, ask the Father of Light for the light of grace for our souls and bodies; Enlighten us, darkened by sins, with the light of God’s grace, so that for the sake of your holy prayers sweet vision will be given to the dishonest. Oh, great servant of God!
O most courageous maiden! Oh, strong martyr Saint Paraskeva! With your holy prayers, be a helper to us sinners, intercede and pray for the damned and extremely negligent sinners, hasten to help us, for we are extremely weak. Pray to the Lord, pure maiden, pray to the Merciful, holy martyr, pray to your Bridegroom, immaculate bride of Christ, so that by your prayers, having escaped the darkness of sin, in the light of the true faith and divine deeds we will enter into the eternal light of the never-evening day, into the city of everlasting joy, in now you shine brightly with glory and endless joy, glorifying and singing with all the heavenly powers the Trisagion of the One Divinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Sayings of the Holy Fathers on illnesses
Patience means to endure whatever happens generously: not to despair in illness, not to be unduly despondent in misfortunes, not to be sad in poverty and not to grumble about insults.
Anyone who sins and is not punished here is the same unfortunate person.
Saint John Chrysostom
A certain elder was often exposed to illness. It happened that he did not get sick for one year; The elder was very sad about this and cried, saying: “My Lord has forsaken me and did not visit me.”
The more we suffer in this life from illness, from persecution, from the power of enemies or from poverty, the more we will inherit rewards in the next life.
The All-Good Lord allows a person in this life various insults and embarrassments, illnesses, and so on, all this in order to cleanse the soul of sins and instill in eternal life.
When illness weighs us down, we do not need to grieve that due to pain and sores we cannot sing psalms with our lips. For illnesses and wounds serve to destroy lusts, and both fasting and prostrations are prescribed for us to conquer passions. If illness also expels these passions, then there is nothing to worry about.
Truly, through bodily illnesses the soul approaches God.
Saint Gregory the Theologian
In illness, before doing anything else, one must hasten to be cleansed of sins in the Sacrament of Repentance and to be reconciled with God in one’s conscience.
It happens that God shields others with illness from a misfortune that would not have escaped them if they had been healthy.
The Lord heals many diseases through doctors and other means. But there are diseases, the cure of which is prohibited by the Lord, when he sees that illness is more necessary for salvation than health.
Illness for a person is the mercy of God. And if a Christian accepts what is sent by God for the benefit of his soul and complacently endures his painful condition, then he goes on the direct path to Paradise. At the sickbed there is threshing: the more blows, the more grains will be knocked out and the richer the grind. Then you need grain for the millstones, then flour for mixing the dough and leavening it, then in the form of bread for the oven, and finally for God’s table.
During illness, everyone should think and say: “Who knows? Maybe in my illness the gates to eternity are opening for me?
In illnesses, before doctors and medicines, use prayer and the Sacraments: Confession, Communion and Unction.
If you are sick, then invite an experienced doctor and use the remedies prescribed by him. For this purpose, so many beneficial plants arise from the earth. If you reject them out of pride, you will hasten your death and become a suicide.
Spiritual wealth lies in patience.
In illness, learn: humility, patience, complacency and gratitude to God.
If you have to indulge yourself due to illness, then that’s okay. And if under the pretext of illness, then it’s bad.
Saint Theophan the Recluse
Our illnesses mostly come from sins, why the best remedy to preventing and healing from them is not to sin.
It is a great feat to patiently endure illnesses and, in the midst of them, sing songs of gratitude to God.
We are brought closer to God by sorrow, cramped conditions, illness, and labor. Do not grumble against them and do not be afraid of them. Although illness torments your flesh, it saves your spirit.
Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk
The Lord makes up for the lack of our good deeds either with illnesses or sorrows.
Although it is a good deed to take care of the sick and visit them, one must have reason; Where your spiritual structure is damaged, things will get by without you.
Try to console the sick person not so much with services as with a cheerful face.
Saint Demetrius of Rostov
We have illnesses from sin, they weaken passions, and a person comes to his senses. He who endures illnesses with patience and gratitude is credited with them instead of feats and even more... At the same time, one must believe and hope that if the Lord God wills a person to experience illnesses, He will give him the strength of patience.
Venerable Seraphim of Sarov
The Lord sent you illness not in vain and not so much as a punishment for previous sins, but out of love for you, in order to tear you away from a sinful life and put you on the path of salvation. Thank God for this, who takes care of you.
The devil attacks those who are dangerously ill more strongly, knowing that he has little time.
In dangerous illnesses, take care first of clearing your conscience and the peace of your soul.
Thank God that you are on a good path: your illness is a great gift from God; Praise and give thanks for this and for everything day and night - and your soul will be saved.
Elder Arseny of Athos
Sick and poor, do not complain or grumble about your fate, about God and people, do not envy someone else’s happiness, beware of despondency and, especially, despair, submit completely to God’s Providence.
Illnesses reconcile us with God and bring us back into His love.
Holy Righteous John of Kronstadt
Reflect on the fact that everything here is fleeting, but the future is eternal.
The patient must console himself by reading Divine Scripture about the suffering of the Savior.
The Lord accepts patience with illness instead of fasting and prayer.
When you are sick, do not force yourself to go to church, but lie under the covers and say the Jesus Prayer.
Venerable Anatoly of Optina
The enemy tempted the ancient Christians with torment, and the modern Christians with illnesses and thoughts.
All the most severe sorrows and misfortunes are endured by people more easily than serious bodily illnesses. The undoubted expert in the matter of tormenting and tormenting people - Satan - testified in the face of God Himself that bodily illnesses are more unbearable than all other misfortunes and that a person who courageously and meekly endures other disasters can weaken in his patience and waver in his devotion to God, subjected to a serious illness.
If you have endured it here, you will not endure eternal torment in the next world, but, on the contrary, you will enjoy such bliss, before which present happiness is nothing.
Whoever does not have joy here and endures it patiently can fully hope that there, in the future life, he will receive great and unspeakable joy.
Prayer before the icon of Our Lady of Tikhvin
When a person’s health is threatened in the form of a serious illness, and he can’t really count on medical help, he turns to the saints. The prayer of the Tikhvin Mother of God becomes the saving straw for a seriously ill patient, the reading of which can create a real miracle.
The Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, which has magical healing powers, was created by the Evangelist Luke during the life of the mother of Christ and sent to the ruler of Antioch, Theophilus, who converted to Christianity and underwent baptism. Then the relic was destined to end up in Jerusalem, from where it was later transported to Constantinople. Here, paying homage to the shrine, they built the Blachernae Temple.
Five centuries later - during the period of iconoclasm - the image had to be hidden: it was brought to the monastery of Pantocrator, and there it was walled up in the wall. When the persecution of Christians ended, the face was returned to its old place - to the temple in Blachernae. Shortly before the defeat of Constantinople, the icon mysteriously evaporated and appeared in Rus' in 1383, not far from Tikhvin. At the site of the find, people built a wooden temple, which subsequently suffered more than once from fire, but the shrine remained unharmed.
The chronicles speak of miracles performed by the image of the Most Holy Theotokos during its stay in the Assumption Monastery: the blind regained their sight, the deaf gained hearing, those possessed by demons were delivered from the evil spirits that plagued them.
In 1560, Tsar Ivan the Terrible ordered the erection of the Assumption Monastery in the area where the icon was found. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the relic was secretly taken out of Russia, and only in 2004 was it returned to Russian soil.
In what cases are requests granted to the Most Holy Tikhvin
In front of the icon of the Tikhvin Mother of God, believers read a prayer for health. If a person is possessed by evil forces, he needs mental healing; it is enough to pray for him in front of the image, and the request will be heard. For various bodily ailments, you can ask for healing. When you are overcome by joint disease, falling sickness, or even paralysis, prayer can work a miracle. If you pray for the recovery of a sick child, he will definitely get better.
But they pray to the Tikhvin Mother of God not only for health. If there is a direct threat of military invasion, you can ask for protection from foreign troops, and help from above will certainly follow.

Christian prayer in front of the Tikhvin Mother icon: comments
One comment
Yes, a truly miraculous icon. My son and I fell ill with tuberculosis and found out about it at one of the later stages, but we did not give up hope and began to pray to the Tikhvin Mother of God. Three days later we both felt better, there was no longer any talk of tuberculosis. I know many cases of such healings, this once again proves that we are surrounded by spiritual forces, and we will not be able to face life's problems without them.

Story
Tikh-Vin-skaya icon of God Ma-te-ri, according to tradition, one of the icons painted by the holy apostle and Evan- Ge-li-stom Lu-koy. In the 5th century from Ieru-sa-li-ma she was transferred to Kon-stan-ti-no-pol, where the Blachernae Temple was built for her. In 1383, 70 years before the capture of Tur-ka-mi Kon-stan-ti-no-po-la, Iko-na disappeared from the temple and in the lu-che-zar- a new light appeared over the waters of Lake La Doge. Chu-des-but-no-si-may from place to place, she stayed near the city of Tikh-vi-na. At the site of the appearance of the icon, a wooden temple was built in honor of the Dormition of God. This miracle left the little souls, and they remained in the monastery, trusting in the protection of God Ma-te -ri. Insignificant in number, the defenses can be successfully defended, but from attacks on many, they are superior -no strength against them. When the Swedes came, they either saw a large army of Russians coming from Moscow, or some kind of heavenly new army, and they fled. After the miracle victory over the Swedes, the royal envoys arrived in Monastery. Having removed the copy from the miraculously created icon, they went to the village of Stol-bo-vo, 50 versts from Tikh-vi-na, where 10 February 1617 peace was concluded with the Swedes. The main hand of the world from the Russian side was a copy of the miraculously created icon. Subsequently, this list was brought to Moscow and placed in the Assumption Cathedral, and then, at the request of the Nov-gorod residents , took part in the war with the Swedes, was sent to Novgorod and installed in the Sophia village. So, from the beginning of the 17th century, the all-Russian re-reading of the Tikh-Vino icon of God Ma-te-ri began.
In the 20th century, during the years of ho-le-ty and hundred years of persecution against the Church of God, the monastery was closed. In 1944, the future ar-hi-bishop of Chi-kag-sky and Min-nea-po-lis-sky John (Gark-lavs) and a mi-rya-nin named Ser- Guy (later his adopted son), saving the miraculously created Tikhvin icon, took it to Europe, and then - in USA. Song 1
Irmos: Having traversed the water like dry land, and having escaped the evil of Egypt, the Israelite cried out: Let us drink to our Deliverer and our God.
About the Almighty Trinity and the Trisolar Unit! I pray, having enlightened and sanctified my soul, and heart, and mind, to Thy Divine love, elevate and instruct me to piously sing the mercy of the Ever-Virgin Blessed One.
Good King, Good Mother, who is obedient to all in petitions and omnipotent in good deeds, the grace of Thy light shine upon us too, and grant grace to us today, O God-gracious One, who begins to sing a song to Thee.
With the face of the Angel, there is guiltily Your joy, Lady, the present triumph of praise: these are now moving towards praise; We, brennii, what will we bring to You? Just diligent thanks.
We sing the Archangel’s voice to Ti: Rejoice, O Pure One, even though you are unworthy. For this goodness, accept this, O Lady, enlightening us with the light of Your mercy and giving grace to everyone.
Song 3
Irmos: Establish in the beginning the heavens with your mind and the earth on the waters; establish me, O Christ, on stone, Thy commandments, for there is no one more holy than You, the only Lover of Mankind.
Come, faithful ones, to the glorious vision, behold on high the Most Pure Virgin, splendidly shining in Her most pure image, graciously visiting us, faithfully singing: there is nothing more pure than Thee, the Lady.
All the minds of the faithful are sanctified, O Theotokos, by Thy grace and are exalted by the wondrous coming of Thy icons, who piously venerate and faithfully glorify Thee, vouchsafe, O Lady, to us, Thy servants, the Most High communion.
Grant us to walk the heavenly path, O Unknown of God, strengthening us for Divine deeds, so that by Yours, O Virgin, having deviated from the evil paths, we will be in common with the everlasting glory.
The Angels of the Creator, the true Light of Christ, ineffably from You, Mother of God, who shone with rays, enlighten our darkened souls and hearts and sanctify with Your grace, O Blessed One, instructing us in the Divine Light.

Song 4
Irmos: You are my strength, Lord, You are my strength, You are my God, You are my joy, do not leave the bosom of the Father and visit our poverty. Together with the prophet Habakkuk I call Ti: Glory to Your power, Lover of mankind.
Creator of all and Creator, bearing all things with omnipotent power, in His Divine and Thine image, the Virgin, today gloriously and miraculously come, into Thy hand, Pure, we bear, for man’s salvation and healing.
To the indescribable gift of God, the icon of the Light of Christ and the Most Pure Virgin, come, faithful ones, let us bow down and fall with love, crying out: send down, O Benefactor, who gave birth to Thee for the sake of the Ever-Virgin Compassionate One, grace and mercy to us, Thy servant.
God adorned and glorified the angels to the Queen, a mental ark, more legitimate than the most pure ark, Your image with indescribable miracles and graces, and He commanded to honor him as an Angel: with them for us, O All-Singing One, pray, glorifying His saving gaze, and Your salvation would improve for us.
Even as the Helper bestowed by God upon us all, Christians, pray to Him, the All-Good and All-Immaculate One, that our countless sins may be despised and delivered from fiery torment, and outer darkness, and all torment.
Song 5
Irmos: My spirit will mature towards You, O God, who was born inexpressibly from the Father and raised up the horn of salvation for us.
You, O Gracious One, in Your merciful favor today with a magnificent appearance of God, You graciously enlightened our country and You sent down the mysterious light of Your enlightenment to the world, to the light of the Highest glory, the Mother of God, the faithful one.
We are darkened by our thoughts, we are aggravated by our sins, we are perplexed by the luminous grace and mercy of Thy confession, O Lady, but, O Most Holy Virgin, enlighten us and enrich us with Thy mysterious gifts of Divine desires, guiding us to the light of the right path.
It is pious everywhere, O Mother of God, who flock to Your most honorable icon, and fervently worship, and faithfully call upon You everywhere before you, saving you from all sorts of troubles, and delivering from severe ailments, and driving away evil spirits, giving peace and health to everyone, O Lady.
Fierce thoughts and bad memories from the evil enemies of the cold, do not leave us, despise us below, O Mother of God, but with Your autumn grace, covering from these, and interceding, and saving from all their slander, O God-blessed One!
Song 6
Irmos: I will pour out a prayer to the Lord and to Him I will proclaim my sorrows, for my soul is filled with evil and my stomach is approaching hell, and I pray like Jonah: from aphids, O God, lift me up.
The vast air and our land, O Queen, in Thy glorious icon of the coming of miracles and Divine gifts were filled with Thy grace, for the confirmation of piety and all the faithful, All-Singing, by whom even today the adversaries are overthrown and those who glorify Thee are strengthened.
City of God, Holy Village, Virgin Blessed of God, save Thy holy house and all Christian cities and countries from opposition and from all slander of the enemy, who sing of Thy love and faithfully venerate Thy most pure image.
Always grant sanctification, health and salvation to our souls and bodies, O Mother of God, who piously venerate Your Divine icon, kissing You with reverent lips and hearts with fear, and singing songs to You with faith from the soul.
The sovereign cover and the invincible wall that You have acquired, O Ever-Virgin Mother of God, we place our trust in You and God, faithfully, and diligently pray: by Your power, the arrows of the enemy and all the snares of demons are weak, like a child, show them and are ineffective, our strong Helper.

Song 7
Irmos: Sometimes the fire in Babylon was ashamed of God’s descent, for this reason the youths in the cave, with joyful feet, like in a flower bed, rejoicing, girded: blessed art thou, O God of our fathers.
As an angel, Your gothic image, O Lady, shines with ever-inexpressible grace and power: today you enlighten us with earthly gifts, and guide us to Heavenly ones, and establish us for eternal life for Your unspeakable goodness, O God-gracious One.
Your magnificent appearance, and your glorious icon of advent, and the wonders of the abyss, Pure One, the soaring lips cannot confess in any way; We, rude people, what shall we say? Exactly: have mercy and save us, O All-Merciful Lady!
Known to the faithful Helper and to the Giver of all good things, receive us, who fall faithfully and cry out to You in love: have mercy on us, O Lady, have mercy on us, as now, as in the next century, be our Helper and Intercessor.
Merciful Mother of God, open the doors of Your mercy to us today and snatch us away from the mouths of mental wolves who want to devour us and completely destroy us; Have mercy, we pray to Thee, O Lady, have mercy, do not turn away Thy shamed servants.
Song 8
Irmos: Cover Your most exalted waters, set sand as a limit to the sea and support everything, The sun sings of You, the moon glorifies You, All creation brings song to You, as the Creator of all forever.
Most of the ranks of Heaven piously reverence Your most pure image, O All-Pure One, and His most wonderful coming, Who appeared under the glorious sun and raised up the faithful race to sing and glorify Your Son, as the Creator of all forever.
Glorious today, singing, kindly by the Angel of Your shitty icon, we worship, reverently, O Lady Queen! Our fatherland glorifying You with Your Divine grace of autumn, strengthen it against enemies, and preserve it peacefully.
Joy of wine, All-Blessed, Rejoice, All-Immaculate, Rejoice, Blessed One, our power and protection and saving refuge, save us, Thy servants, who have no help from God more than You, for we hope in You and we sing to You forever.
You are the one who is our life's treasurer with God, the Guardian and the strong hope of salvation: we pray to You, O Compassionate One, to intercede for us after our death, so that we will be delivered from future struggles and will mercifully find Your Son and God on the Day of Judgment.
Song 9
Irmos: The heavens and the earth were horrified at this and were amazed at the ends, for God had appeared as a man in the flesh and Your womb was more spacious than the heavens. Thus Thee, the Mother of God, the Angels and the people of the ranks are magnified.
Simple are the paths along the pleasant sky of Your icon, Lady, walking the path, creating divinely and brilliantly unsearchable paths, illuminating faithful grace in the heavenly realms, crying out with faith: truly you are the most honorable of all, O Pure Virgin.
The words of Your most sublime oracles, O Pure One, can in no way beautify our comforts, so we earnestly pray to You, the Queen: pray to Your Son, the Lord and King of all, who has given us You, the glorious Helper, to make us worthy of Your Heavenly Kingdom.
A hymn of thanksgiving for Thy ineffable mercy, O God-gracious One, accept from us our petitions for the benefit of those who fulfill them, and lead us all to the highest heights, for truly we call upon Thee: Thou art truly above all, O All-Immaculate Virgin.
Give birth to all of us, we joyfully bless You, O Mother of God, for You have filled us all with joy through the glorious coming of Your icon, Most Pure One. As we bow to her today, we tenderly pray to Thee: do not forget, O Lady, to grant Thy servants joy in the future age of the chosen ones.

Song 1
Irmos: I will open my mouth and be filled with the Spirit, and I will vomit the word to the Queen Mother, and I will appear, brightly triumphant, and I will sing, rejoicing, those miracles.
Grant us, Light-Giver Christ, on the special day of the glorious appearance of the icon that gave birth to You, to brightly triumph and cheerfully sing Your miracles with passion and joy.
The Light-giving Word of God and the Wisdom of the Father in the flesh, the Virgin who gave birth, enlighten the deep darkness of my foolishness and grant me the words to sing Your miracles.
Today, the councils of the faithful are enlightened, but the heretical militias are put to shame, seeing Your icon, Lady, like the sun, walking through the air, consuming the darkness of wickedness and enlightening the faithful.
You alone art our greatness and praise with God, O God-unknown, for we are saved from troubles by You, and we resort to You, and diligently pray: deliver, O Lady, Your servants from eternal torment, singing Your miracles.
Song 3
Irmos: Thy hymns, Mother of God, Living and Unenvious Source, spiritually establish the face of yourself, and grant crowns of glory in Thy Divine glory.
Christ Jesus, the Eternal King and Most Merciful, Your most honorable image and the Ever-Virgin One who gave birth to You, enlighten us with the appearance and grant us forgiveness of sins and deliverance from troubles.
When the Angels invisibly carry Your most venerable icon, O Lady, and see people standing luminously in the air, then, enlightened by the light of Your mercy, I am filled with unspeakable joy.
About the love of God, saints and priests, monastics and prostitutes and all the people, rejoice brightly today, as the luminous Dawn rises on high, holding the true Light, depicted in flesh, with Him descending to us, giving enlightenment to the whole world.
By yours, Virgin, the all-honorable icon of old, the Creator of all miracles, saved the Royal City from being invaded by foreigners; Bless the Mother of God and the Russian country, protection and intercession, saving you from all the slander of the enemy.

Like an ancient reliquary, truly Your most pure image, O Lady! Moreover, the shining electra, everywhere, the inexhaustible rays of Your mercy, revealing to everyone, extends and mercifully observes those who honor His glorious coming by the grace of God. About him, Lady, we rejoice, diligently celebrate and motherly glorify Your mercy towards us.
Song 4
Irmos: Seated in glory on the Throne of the Divine in a light cloud, the Most Divine Jesus came with an Imperishable Hand and called to salvation: glory, O Christ, to Thy power.
Let the entire earth rejoice today, and let both the air and the sea be sprinkled with joy, as the Russian country has been gloriously illuminated by the all-honorable image of the Mother of God with a miraculous procession.
The ranks of Angels servilely serve You, the Queen of all, and reverently venerate Your all-honorable icon, praising You, Holy Virgin, we, humble ones, how can we, the All-Pure One, be worthy of singing?
The Archangel's hymn, Rejoice, we call You, Bride of God, the Lord is with You, Rejoice, the joy of the Angels and all people praising Thee, truly joy, save the souls of those who sing Thee, Pure Mother of God.
About the Mother of God, Giver of joy, glorifying Thee with faith and singing from the soul with unspeakable joys and granting the uneven Light, O Blessed Virgin, to the Lady.
Song 5
Irmos: Everyone was terrified of Your Divine glory: You, the Unartificed Virgin, had God in your womb above all and gave birth to the Flightless Son, giving peace to all who sing Your praises.
In the desert, it was revealed to You, the Mother of God, with the saint, a reverent man was deemed worthy to see, and Your words of favor from You, the Queen, were received for greater affirmation and in favor of the world of salvation.
I am damned, O All-Pure One, and am unworthy now of such grace as to see You, but in the future grant me the privilege of seeing You, and of beholding Your Son coming in glory, and of hearing the Divine voice, calling me into the Kingdom of Heaven.
We resort to Your goodness, O Virgin, and let the eyes of our hearts open to You, O Pure One, and, weeping and bending our knees, we pray to You: do not despise our sighing and be our protection and Helper on the Day of Judgment.
Thou art the One Representative of all Christians, Most Pure Mother of God, hear our prayer, look upon us, O All-Singing One, save Thy city and monastery and illumine Thy flock with the dawn of the grace of Thy intercession.
Song 6
Irmos: This divine and all-honorable celebration, O Divine Wisdom, Mother of God, come, let us clasp our hands and glorify the God who was born from Her.
Oh, your marvelous miracle, Lady! As if for disobeying Your command, a terrible man was taken away from the head of the church and found on earth unharmed, by Your mercy, O All-Merciful One.
No one has disobeyed the Divine commands like I, the accursed one. Thus, falling down, I pray to the Lady: before I even completely perish, guide me on the true path and save me, Pure One.
You, O Mother of God, who gave birth to Him who endured the crucifixion on the Tree of the Cross for our sake, beseech us always, who remember His holy suffering, to do His Divine will and be heirs of eternal blessings.
Lady, Pure Virgin, deliver us all who are fierce, beseeching Him who nailed our sins on the Cross, and grant us worthy status at His right hand when He comes in His glory.

Rejoice, given from God to the Representative of the Christian race, and guard it diligently from all troubles and evils, and let us call Thee: Rejoice, Virgin, salvation for the faithful.
Song 7
Irmos: Having not served the creation of God’s Wisdom more than the Creator, but, having stood up manfully from the fiery rebuke, I rejoiced, singing: O Lord and God of the fathers, blessed art thou.
Thy only Son and God of all, Mother of God, keep Thy most pure image unharmed in the flame, oh, miracle! You have found grace greater than the sun, shining and enlightening the faithful, singing in faith: God, blessed are you.
The heavenly ranks rejoice with the earthly ones, Mother of God, in Thy bright triumph, illuminate those who perform us and stand with fear before Thy most pure image with the light of Thy radiance, O Most Pure One, and save us all.
The only one from the Trinity of God the Word, the Heavenly King, you gave birth to in the flesh, the Queen, pray to him, the Lady, to give to our army a tax of victory over the enemy and help to all the faithful, forgiveness of sins and salvation for souls.
Thy servants, O Pure One, singing to Thee and praying to Thee with undoubted faith, Thy illuminating and Divine grace of autumn, as the Benefactor who gave birth to all, and cover and preserve from all the slander of the enemy.

Oh, Your glorious miracles, Pure One! As the creators of Thy holy church, who were under the stone for three days, found alive and harmless, are protected by protection, to You, the Queen of all, sending up voices of praise.
You gave life instead of death, O Mother of God, to a dead creature. Likewise, O Bride of God, who have been put to death by many sins, preserve us unharmed from the enemy and lead us to a better life, saving our souls.
Today we are filled with joy and joy with all faith in Your icon, the Mother of God, as if in the jaws of death you appeared to the former, the Creator of Life and an ever-flowing source, draining healing gifts for everyone and giving salvation.
Praise greatly your most pure image and the Child born from you, the truth of God, the wonderful icons, the glorious coming of the copulating people from everywhere, All-Sung, accept the prayer and fulfill the petitions.
Song 9
Irmos: Let every earth-born leap, let us be enlightened by the Spirit, let the nature of the bodiless minds triumph, honoring the sacred triumph of the Mother of God, and let it cry out: Rejoice, All-Blessed Mother of God, Pure Ever-Virgin.
Who will not be surprised at the appearance, O Lady, of Your all-honorable icons? Through this air, like some luminous gift, You sent down to the Russian lands, joyfully singing Thee and truly magnifying Thee.
O Virgin, you have bestowed unspeakable joy on the world by the appearance of Your most pure icon, deliver, O Lady, from all sorrow to those who worship her with faith and kiss her with fear: O Most Holy One! Save and have mercy on everyone and grant the Kingdom of Heaven.
Having given birth, O Lady, to the Lover of God, for your love for mankind, Thou hast visited us with Thy Divine icon, to which one always flows and one can see the splendor of it, We tenderly cry out to Thee: save ever, O Mother of God, Thy heritage.
With humble lips I brought this simple song to Thee, O All-Singing One: I am too rude, much of a sinner, and unworthy to praise Thee according to my worth, but hoping with zeal for Thy generosity, for Thou hast given birth to the Savior of the whole world, do not disdain, O Queen, accept this and save me.

The Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God is considered the patroness of infants; it is called the children's icon. She helps children in illness, calms the restless and disobedient, helps them choose friends, and protects them from the bad influence of the street. It is believed to strengthen the bond between parents and children. Helps women during childbirth and pregnancy. Also, people turn to the Mother of God in front of Her Tikhvin icon with prayer when there are problems with conception. The Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God is one of the eight miraculous and most revered icons of the Mother of God in Russia. Before her they pray for the sight of the blind and the healing of eye diseases, for illnesses of children, for epilepsy and paralysis, for the preservation of peace and the non-occurrence of war.
Kust Lyubov Ivanovna, born in 1945 Yekaterinburg city. “I, God’s servant Love, testify to the mercy of the Most Holy Theotokos through prayers in front of Her Tikhvin icon. My adult son, a student at USTU, quit smoking weed. He smoked for about a year, but we didn’t find out right away, but only when my son began to disappear somewhere unknown for two a day or more, and when he came, he slept the whole time, and as soon as he slept through it, his eyes were red and filmy. With great difficulty, we found out the reason from him and immediately took him to the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky to my spiritual father, Priest Georgy Sergeev. And Then I went with my son to Father Father George. And my son and I were saved: I from depression, and he from smoking weed, according to the instructions of my confessor and prayers to the Mother of God, to the Lord Jesus Christ. I read the akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos, often confessed my sins, took communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ. And, glory to You, Lord, everything fell into place. The son passed the State Exam with excellent marks, works as a process engineer, wears a cross and sometimes goes to the Alexander Nevsky Church. And on the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary he abandoned smoke cigarettes. Glory to Thee, Lord, glory to Thee.
I made a vow in front of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, if my son is healed, I will give away my gold earrings, which I did on September 20, 2004.
And I also want to tell you about the invaluable help I receive from God and the Mother of God. In 1999, the family of the eldest son was involved in a car accident. The eldest granddaughter, Verochka, received a terrible concussion, a skull fracture, a hematoma, and was taken to Hospital No. 9 in a coma. She showed no signs of life, only on the 9th day she sighed. As soon as I found out, I immediately ordered magpies about health in several churches, according to the instructions of Fr. Nicholas read an akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos every day, gave alms to the poor so that they would pray, and in other churches she ordered all the employees to pray for my granddaughter. With God's help, Verochka slowly returned to life. Glory to You, Lord, time has passed, and now my granddaughter is completely healthy."
Boyarintseva Yulia Nikolaevna, a student at the Institute of Traumatology (brought a gold necklace as a gift to the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God as a sign of gratitude for the healing she received while praying in front of the icon): “There were very bad blood tests. In the evening I came to the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky, prayed before icon. The next day, a repeat test was scheduled, and then a sharp decrease in bilirubin was discovered from 60 ng/l to 20 ng/l."
Another of the grateful donors said: “My son Vladimir ran away from the Army because of hazing and there was no news from him. On the advice of my sister, I began to pray at the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, and soon the son was found, he was transferred to another unit and now he has everything safely".
Tatyana Semyonovna Yakimova, a teacher from Ozersk (donated a string of pearls): “Doctors found fibroids (a benign tumor that could turn malignant). I always come to the Alexander Nevsky Church to the icon of the Tikhvin Mother of God, as soon as I come to visit my daughter in Yekaterinburg "The Mother of God asked for help. The last examination showed a decrease in fibroids almost to normal."

Prayer before the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God
O Most Holy Virgin, Mother of the Lord of the highest powers, Queen of Heaven and earth, our city and country, Almighty Intercessor. Accept this singing of praise and gratitude from us, unworthy Thy servants, and lift up our prayers to the throne of God Thy Son, that He may be merciful to our untruths and add His goodness to those who honor Thy all-honorable name and worship Thy miraculous image with faith and love. You are not worthy of being pardoned by Him, unless you have propitiated Him for us, Lady, since everything is possible for You from Him. For this reason, we resort to You, as to our undoubted and immediate Intercessor; Hear us praying to You, cover us with Your all-powerful protection and ask God Your Son to be our shepherd, zeal and vigil for souls, a city ruler for wisdom and strength, judges for truth and impartiality, a mentor for reason and humility, love and harmony for spouses, obedience for children, patience for the offended, to those who offend the fear of God, to those who grieve complacency, to those who rejoice at self-control: to all of us is the spirit of reason and piety, the spirit of mercy and meekness, the spirit of purity and truth. For you are, Lady, the glory of Heaven and the hope of earth. According to God, You are our Hope and Intercessor of all those who flow to You with faith. We therefore pray to You, and to You, as the Almighty Helper, we commit ourselves and each other and our whole life, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.
